Default Salary Calculator

AoA everyone,

I was bored last night so got down to make this simple salary calculator for employees of Federal Government. Took the better part of the night figuring out the formulas since I'm not some great Excel master. It wasn't made for public consumption but then I decided that having spent 4 hours on this I might as well upload it for public benefit instead of letting it rot in my PC.

Anyway, it calculates the total gross salary of the employee and does not deduct Income Tax, GP Fund, Benevolent Fund and Group Insurance. The reason behind this is that I don't know the mechanics behind calculating those things for each BPS. If anyone knows how to calculate these things then please inform here so I can add those as well to find the Net Salary i.e. Take Home Salary as well. Now, on how to use this calculator:

1. Select your BPS from the drop down menu on the Calculator.

2. Enter the number of years spent in all the BPSs you've been in. For example, if you have spent 2 years in BPS 17 then enter 2 in the "Year(s) Spent" column alongside BPS 17. If you are new then don't touch this table.

Voila! Your gross Salary would be shown here:

You can also use the Calculator to find what your minimum salary would be, say 10 years from now. Maximum cannot be calculated with the knowledge that we have now because Government adds adhoc reliefs with every budget which cannot be anticipated.

If you have any suggestions or comments please leave them here. You are all free to play with and modify this calculator as much as you want.

Thanks.

Disclaimer: This calculator was made in good faith and does not have any inaccuracies that I know of so I would not be responsible for any damage that may occur from the use of this calculator.

Behold! The Salary Calculator has been updated with accurate deduction of Income Tax, GP Fund, Benevolent Fund and Group Insurance hence giving you the Net Salary i.e. Take Home Salary.

Note: For Tax deduction I have used the trusty free Masood and Masood Income Tax Calculator in order to not try to reinvent the wheel. This is just a simple tax calculation without adjustments, tax credits and others.
