Default Meri zaban meri halat bta nahi sakti
labon pay rukhti dilon mein sama nahi saki
woh aik baat jo lafzon mein aa nahi sakti.

jo dil mein hona zara ghum to ashk pani hai,
kay aag khaak ko kundan bana nahi sakti.

yaqeen guman se bahar tu ho nahi sakti,
nazar khayyal se aagay tu ja nahi sakti.

dilon kay ramz faqat ahley dard jantey hain,
teri samjh mein meri baat aa nahi sakti.

yeh soz-e-ishq to gongay ka khuwab hai jaisey,
meri zaban meri haalat bata nahi sakti
