Khud nawed-e-zindagi laayi qaza mere liye,
sham-e-kushta hun fanaa mein hai baqaa mere liye.

Zindagi mein toh na ek dum khush kiya hans bol kar,
aaj kyon rote hain mere aashna mere liye.

Kunj-e-uzlat mein misaal-e-aasiya hun gosha-gir,
rizq pahunchaata hai ghar baithe khuda mere liye.

Tu saraapa ajr aey zaahid main sar-ta-pa gunaah,
baagh-e-jannat teri khaatir karbala mere liye.

Naam raushan kar ke kyonkar bujh na jaata misl-e-shama,
na-muwaafiq thi zamaane ki hawaa mere liye.

Har nafas aaina-e-dil se ye aati hai sadaa,
khaak tu ho ja toh haasil ho jila mere liye.

Khaak se hai khaak ko ulfat tadapta hun ‘anees
karbala ke waaste main karbala mere liye. !!
