Chaand sitaron se kya poochun kab din mere phirte hain
Woh to bechare khud hain bhikari, dere dere phirte hain
Jin galiyon main hum ne sukh ki sej pe raten kaati thin
Un galiyon main vyaakul hokar saanjh saweray phirte hain
Roop-saroop ki jot jagana is nagari main jokhum hai
Chaaron khunt bagolay ban kar ghor andhere phirte hain
Jin ke sham-badan saye main mera maan sastaya tha
Ab tak aankhon ke aagay woh baal ghanere phirte hain
Koi hamain bhi ye samajha do un par dil kyon rijhh gaya
Teekhi chitvan baanki chhab wale bahu-tere phirte hain
Is nagri men baag aur baan ki yaron liila nayari hai
Paanchi apne sar pe uth kar apne baseray phirte hain
Log to daman see lete hain jaise ho ji lete hain
“Abid” hum diwane hain jo baal bikhere phirte hain
Abid Ali Abid......
