roote phirte hain saarii-saarii raat
ab yahii rozagaar hai apnaa


de ke dil hum jo ho gae majabuur
is mein kyaa ikhtiyaar hai apnaa


kuchh nahin hum misaal-e-anqaa lek
shahar-shahar ishtahaar hai apnaa


jis ko tum aasmaan kahte ho
so diloon kaa Gubaar hai apnaa
