 Wuh khizaan ki aamad sey paishtar, jahan baat kartey they baith kar
Ussi amar-bail ki chaaoun mein, koi raah takta hey raat bhar

 Abhi din charha hey zara zara, aey sawaad-e-shab abhi thehar ja
Abhi kehna chaha tha haal-e-dil, tu bhi chal diya mujhey chohr kar

 Na hi dil mein hein teri chahtein, na shikayatein, na adawatein
Tou ye kya ke aankhein chahlak pareen, kabhi ho geya jo tera zikar

 Kahan dhuhndtey ho mera pata, mein wuh phool hoon jo bikhar chuka
Milein ujrey ujrey sey baam-o-dar, tou ye sochna ke hey mera ghar

 Tujhey kho k aankhein baha'ein khoon, tujhey pa k bhi na miley sakoon
Meri chahtein bhi ajab raheen, merey silsiley bhii ajeeb tar

 Mein kahoon kisi sey bhi tou kya kahoon, hua mujh pe taari ajab fasoon
Keh sakoot-e-shab merii zindagi, ke ghum-o-alam merey humsafar

 Jahan tum they mujhsey khafa huwey, jahan apney rastey juda huwey
Mein miloon gii tumko wahin kaheen, ussi raah mein, ussi mor par

 Tujhey kya kahoon merey humnawa, ke bura huwa ya bhala huwa
Kabhi zindagii jo mili mujhey, tou rahi na baqi merii umar…..!
