par tabiat wohi hai bhoolnay walon jaisi

Ik zamanay ki rifaqat pe bhi ram-khorda hai
us kam aamaiz ki khu bu hai ghazalon jaisi

Dhoondta phirta hoon logon mein shabahat uski
ke woh khuabon mein bhi lagti hai khayalon jaisi

Kis dil azaar musafat se mein lauta hoon ke hai
aanso-on mein bhi tapak paoon ke chalon jaisi

Uski batain bhi dil awaiz hain surat ki tarah
meri sochain bhi paraishan mere balon jaisi

Uski ankhon ko kabhi ghor se daikha hai Faraz
sonay walon ki tarah jagnay walon jaisi

subah ka hona dubhar kar dein rasta rok sitaron ka

jhuthe sikon mein bhi utha dete hain aksar sacha mal
shaklen dekh k sauda karna kam hai in banjaron ka

apni zuban se kuch na kahenge chup hi rahenge ashiq log
tum se to itna ho sakta hai pucho hal becharon ka

ek zara si bat thi jis ka charcha pohuncha gali gali
ham gumnamon ne phir bhi ehsan na mana yaron ka

dard ka khna chikh utho dil ka taqaza waza nibhao
sab kuchh sehna chup chup rahna kam hai izzatdaron ka

main samandar dekhti hun tum kinara dekhna

yun bicharna bhi bahut asan na tha us se magar
jate jate us ka wo mur k dubara dekhna

kis shabahat ko liye aya hai darwaze pe chand
ai shab-e-hijran zara apna sitara dekhna

aine ki ankh hi kuch kam na thi mere liye
jane ab kya kya dikhayega tumhara dekhna...
