يہ عناصر کا پرانا کھيل، يہ دنيائے دوں
ساکنان عرش اعظم کي تمناؤں کا خوں!
اس کي بربادي پہ آج آمادہ ہے وہ کارساز
جس نے اس کا نام رکھا تھا جہان کاف و نوں
ميں نے دکھلايا فرنگي کو ملوکيت کا خواب
ميں نے توڑا مسجد و دير و کليسا کا فسوں
ميں نے ناداروں کو سکھلايا سبق تقدير کا
ميں نے منعم کو ديا سرمايہ داري کا جنوں
کون کر سکتا ہے اس کي آتش سوزاں کو سرد
جس کے ہنگاموں ميں ہو ابليس کا سوز دروں
جس کي شاخيں ہوں ہماري آبياري سے بلند
کون کر سکتا ہے اس نخل کہن کو سرنگوں!

پہلا مشير


اس ميں کيا شک ہے کہ محکم ہے يہ ابليسي نظام
پختہ تر اس سے ہوئے خوئے غلامي ميں عوام
ہے ازل سے ان غريبوں کے مقدر ميں سجود
ان کي فطرت کا تقاضا ہے نماز بے قيام
آرزو اول تو پيدا ہو نہيں سکتي کہيں
ہو کہيں پيدا تو مر جاتي ہے يا رہتي ہے خام
يہ ہماري سعي پيہم کي کرامت ہے کہ آج
صوفي و ملا ملوکيت کے بندے ہيں تمام
طبع مشرق کے ليے موزوں يہي افيون تھي
ورنہ 'قوالي' سے کچھ کم تر نہيں 'علم کلام'!
ہے طواف و حج کا ہنگامہ اگر باقي تو کيا
کند ہو کر رہ گئي مومن کي تيغ بے نيام
کس کي نوميدي پہ حجت ہے يہ فرمان جديد؟
'ہے جہاد اس دور ميں مرد مسلماں پر حرام!

دوسرا مشير

خير ہے سلطاني جمہور کا غوغا کہ شر
تو جہاں کے تازہ فتنوں سے نہيں ہے با خبر!

پہلا مشير

ہوں، مگر ميري جہاں بيني بتاتي ہے مجھے
جو ملوکيت کا اک پردہ ہو، کيا اس سے خطر!
ہم نے خود شاہي کو پہنايا ہے جمہوري لباس
جب ذرا آدم ہوا ہے خود شناس و خود نگر
کاروبار شہرياري کي حقيقت اور ہے
يہ وجود مير و سلطاں پر نہيں ہے منحصر
مجلس ملت ہو يا پرويز کا دربار ہو
ہے وہ سلطاں، غير کي کھيتي پہ ہو جس کي نظر
تو نے کيا ديکھا نہيں مغرب کا جمہوري نظام
چہرہ روشن، اندروں چنگيز سے تاريک تر!

تيسرا مشير

روح سلطاني رہے باقي تو پھر کيا اضطراب
ہے مگر کيا اس يہودي کي شرارت کا جواب؟
وہ کليم بے تجلي، وہ مسيح بے صليب
نيست پيغمبر و ليکن در بغل دارد کتاب
کيا بتاؤں کيا ہے کافر کي نگاہ پردہ سوز
مشرق و مغرب کي قوموں کے ليے روز حساب!
اس سے بڑھ کر اور کيا ہوگا طبيعت کا فساد
توڑ دي بندوں نے آقاؤں کے خيموں کي طناب!

چوتھا مشير

توڑ اس کا رومہ الکبرے کے ايوانوں ميں ديکھ
آل سيزر کو دکھايا ہم نے پھر سيزر کا خواب
کون بحر روم کي موجوں سے ہے لپٹا ہوا
'گاہ بالد چوں صنوبر، گاہ نالد چوں رباب،

تيسرا مشير

ميں تو اس کي عاقبت بيني کا کچھ قائل نہيں
جس نے افرنگي سياست کو کيا يوں بے حجاب

پانچواں مشير

( ابليس کو مخاطب کرکے)


اے ترے سوز نفس سے کار عالم استوار!
تو نے جب چاہا، کيا ہر پردگي کو آشکار
آب و گل تيري حرارت سے جہان سوز و ساز
ابلہ جنت تري تعليم سے دانائے کار
تجھ سے بڑھ کر فطرت آدم کا وہ محرم نہيں
سادہ دل بندوں ميں جو مشہور ہے پروردگار
کام تھا جن کا فقط تقديس و تسبيح و طواف
تيري غيرت سے ابد تک سرنگون و شرمسار
گرچہ ہيں تيرے مريد افرنگ کے ساحر تمام
اب مجھے ان کي فراست پر نہيں ہے اعتبار
وہ يہودي فتنہ گر، وہ روح مزدک کا بروز
ہر قبا ہونے کو ہے اس کے جنوں سے تار تار
زاغ دشتي ہو رہا ہے ہمسر شاہين و چرغ
کتني سرعت سے بدلتا ہے مزاج روزگار
چھا گئي آشفتہ ہو کر وسعت افلاک پر
جس کو ناداني سے ہم سمجھے تھے اک مشت غبار
فتنہء فردا کي ہيبت کا يہ عالم ہے کہ آج
کانپتے ہيں کوہسار و مرغزار و جوئبار
ميرے آقا! وہ جہاں زير و زبر ہونے کو ہے
جس جہاں کا ہے فقط تيري سيادت پر مدار

ابليس

( اپنے مشيروں سے)

ہے مرے دست تصرف ميں جہان رنگ و بو
کيا زميں، کيا مہر و مہ، کيا آسمان تو بتو
ديکھ ليں گے اپني آنکھوں سے تماشا غرب و شرق
ميں نے جب گرما ديا اقوام يورپ کا لہو
کيا امامان سياست، کيا کليسا کے شيوخ
سب کو ديوانہ بنا سکتي ہے ميري ايک ہو
کارگاہ شيشہ جو ناداں سمجھتا ہے اسے
توڑ کر ديکھے تو اس تہذيب کے جام و سبو!
دست فطرت نے کيا ہے جن گريبانوں کو چاک
مزدکي منطق کي سوزن سے نہيں ہوتے رفو
کب ڈرا سکتے ہيں مجھ کو اشتراکي کوچہ گرد
يہ پريشاں روزگار، آشفتہ مغز، آشفتہ مو
ہے اگر مجھ کو خطر کوئي تو اس امت سے ہے
جس کي خاکستر ميں ہے اب تک شرار آرزو
خال خال اس قوم ميں اب تک نظر آتے ہيں وہ
کرتے ہيں اشک سحر گاہي سے جو ظالم وضو
جانتا ہے، جس پہ روشن باطن ايام ہے
مزدکيت فتنہ فردا نہيں، اسلام ہے!

جانتا ہوں ميں يہ امت حامل قرآں نہيں
ہے وہي سرمايہ داري بندہ مومن کا ديں
جانتا ہوں ميں کہ مشرق کي اندھيري رات ميں
بے يد بيضا ہے پيران حرم کي آستيں
عصر حاضر کے تقاضاؤں سے ہے ليکن يہ خوف
ہو نہ جائے آشکارا شرع پيغمبر کہيں
الحذر! آئين پيغمبر سے سو بار الحذر
حافظ ناموس زن، مرد آزما، مرد آفريں
موت کا پيغام ہر نوع غلامي کے ليے
نے کوئي فغفور و خاقاں، نے فقير رہ نشيں
کرتا ہے دولت کو ہر آلودگي سے پاک صاف
منعموں کو مال و دولت کا بناتا ہے اميں
اس سے بڑھ کر اور کيا فکر و عمل کا انقلاب
پادشاہوں کي نہيں، اللہ کي ہے يہ زميں!
چشم عالم سے رہے پوشيدہ يہ آئيں تو خوب
يہ غنيمت ہے کہ خود مومن ہے محروم يقيں
ہے يہي بہتر الہيات ميں الجھا رہے
يہ کتاب اللہ کي تاويلات ميں الجھا رہے

توڑ ڈاليں جس کي تکبيريں طلسم شش جہات
ہو نہ روشن اس خدا انديش کي تاريک رات
ابن مريم مر گيا يا زندہ جاويد ہے
ہيں صفات ذات حق، حق سے جدا يا عين ذات؟
آنے والے سے مسيح ناصري مقصود ہے
يا مجدد، جس ميں ہوں فرزند مريم کے صفات؟
ہيں کلام اللہ کے الفاظ حادث يا قديم
امت مرحوم کي ہے کس عقيدے ميں نجات؟
کيا مسلماں کے ليے کافي نہيں اس دور ميں
يہ الہيات کے ترشے ہوئے لات و منات؟
تم اسے بيگانہ رکھو عالم کردار سے
تا بساط زندگي ميں اس کے سب مہرے ہوں مات
خير اسي ميں ہے، قيامت تک رہے مومن غلام
چھوڑ کر اوروں کي خاطر يہ جہان بے ثبات
ہے وہي شعر و تصوف اس کے حق ميں خوب تر
جو چھپا دے اس کي آنکھوں سے تماشائے حيات
ہر نفس ڈرتا ہوں اس امت کي بيداري سے ميں
ہے حقيقت جس کے ديں کي احتساب کائنات
مست رکھو ذکر و فکر صبحگاہي ميں اسے
پختہ تر کر دو مزاج خانقاہي ميں اسے

After the first century of Mohammad P.B.U.H and his close companions, Islam started being wrapped by concepts that either were crafted or were borrowed by other religions. Unfortunately such concepts became exactly Islam in next centuries. This was the time when an attempt of conveying the real objective of Islam and removing the veils of mistaken and misinterpreted thoughts could make Muslims feel a drift from religion. Obviously it was an unmanageable situation but the world of Islam found an eye which could see real Islam hidden behind thousands veils and a tongue that knew the psychological state of his audience – Mohammad Iqbal. The centre of his thoughts was Qur’an. He never considered himself a poet but used poetry as a medium to deliver his message considering the circumstances and customs of the country. For him Qur’an was a book that emphasized “deed” rather than “idea”. Obviously, a person who understands Qur’an very well, understands the world very well and knows the real issues of the world and their solution.


The Plot

Iblees is sitting with his five advisors and starts a meeting with self-praising statements and explains what he has done so far to take the world at this stage. First advisor affirms his strategies and explains the state of people around the world. Second advisor reminds them about a threat. But first advisor corrects him and refutes his fear. Third advisor reminds them about another “serious” threat. Forth advisor provides the solution to that threat. Fifth advisor explains that “serious” threat again in more detail to let Iblees understand the seriousness of the matter. Iblees who is listening to all advisors refutes all of the fears that they have but discloses his own fear and considers it a “Real” threat to his satanic system. He explains why he is afraid of that threat and then he finally tells them what to do.

IBLEES (to his advisors)

Iblees starts the meeting in a self-praising mood and says that this disgusting world has murdered all the hopes that residents of heaven had tied with it and now the great creator of this world who named it “KUN” is convinced to destroy it himself, then he says:

Mein Ne Dikhlaya Farangi Ko Malookiat Ka Khuwab
Mein Ne Tora Masjid-O-Der-O-Kalisa Ka Fasoon

Mein Ne Nadaaron Ko Sikhlaya Sabaq Taqdeer Ka
Mein Ne Mun’im Ko Diya Sarmaya Daari Ka JunooN

1. Showed the dream of Monocracy to Europe
2. Broke the spell of religious centers
3. Spread the concept of predestination among poor and innocent people
4. Gave madness of Capitalism to rich community

Monocracy is a form of government in which the ruler is an absolute dictator and not restricted by a constitution or laws or opposition etc. But this is also a fact that a single person or a group of people can’t rule millions of people. Then how it happens? Why millions of people follow the policies of a single person or of a group of people? The ruler uses effective bodies of the society to let people know that whatever he is doing is doing for their benefit or there is no other way around. Today “Media” is used for such purposes but what those effective bodies were in old times? It was clergy. Religious centers built for some meaningful purposes in times of prophets used later in the era of monocracy for propagating concepts that could help the ruler’s policies. A misinterpreted belief that was injected in the brain of innocent and poor people was “Predestination” so they didn’t take a stand against. Unfortunately religious bodies made this concept exact Islamic while this one concept destroys the all other concepts of Qur’an like revelation, practices, law of requital, sins, virtues, punishments, rewards, justice, judgment day etc. The will of GOD then was misinterpreted to prove the misinterpreted concept of “Predestination”.

At the same time, there were rich people in the society. They kept the foundation of “Capitalism” so the wealth drew in more wealth. Poor and innocent people were used as machinery in that wealth-building-factory. If you keep one thousand rupees in a strongbox, you will find same one thousand rupees after 6 months because money does not bear children. But if you purchase a piece of land and hire few farmers who cultivate it for 6 months then you can get profit over the investment. Where does that profit come from? Obviously someone else works hard to produce it. All profit goes to you and you pay “wage” to the farmer and sometimes you even don’t pay “wages”. You get profit over the investment while farmer remains hungry in the field. And then clergy tells farmer that his poverty is predestined from GOD. One day he commits suicide and clergy tells his wife and children that it was all written for you from your GOD.

Iblees then claims that no-one can extinguish the fire that he has set. No-one can bring the branches of the tree to the ground that he has watered.

In the above verses, first Advisor affirms the strategies of Iblees and talks about the state of world. He says: “there is no doubt in the strength of satanic system because it has made common people slaves of the powerful bodies of the society. They are in a state of surrendering. They follow the system that has been given to them but do not strive to reform or rebuild the system. They can never think about taking a stand and if sometimes they think their hopes either are killed or remain unprocessed. Because this is the result of our continuous struggle that their clergy is serving monocracy. They are involved in unproductive activities and debates over non-issues. They still perform prayers, fasting, hajj and other rituals but they have lost the real essence of Islam.”

Second advisor says “I am aware, but we don’t need to be afraid of democracy because it is another form of monocracy. It is a part of our planning because we had got an idea that human intellect is now at a stage where they won’t tolerate monocracy anymore. There is something behind the throne greater than the king himself. It does not matter whether a dictator rules or an elected politician, the real ruler is he who knows how to own the production of others. Haven’t you seen the democratic system of west? It looks brighter from outside but is actually darker than the changezi system from inside.”

Third advisor confirms what first advisor explained about democracy but reminds all of them about Karl Marx as a serious threat to the satanic system.

Karl Marx is credited as the founder of communism however the idea of a society based on common ownership of productive property can be traced back to sixth century when a Persian reformer “Mazdak” instituted communal possessions and social welfare programs. This was later named as “Mazdakism”. Communism is also considered to be a branch of socialism.

Iqbal believed that by adding GOD to socialism we can come very close to the economic system that Quran suggests. Iqbal believed that socialism or communism claim to build a very strong society but they are missing its foundation. Obviously why a person would agree to share his productive property with others? What would be the reason behind such motivation? I require a separate post to cover what an ideal economic system is and what happens when you add GOD to socialism?

But still communism was a serious threat to the satanic system. Karl Marx and his companions/followers had taken a stand against capitalism and ruling parties. And then there was a series of revolutions from 1871 to 2006 in different areas of the world like Paris Commune in 1871, Russian revolution in 1917, German Revolution in 1918, Chinese Revolution in 1949, August Revolution 1945, Cuban Revolution in 1959 and many other movements.

Fifth advisor praises Iblees for his great satanic strategies. But also warns him that communism has become a great threat for the satanic system. Iblees should not take it lightly.

After listening to all of his advisors, Iblees says “This world is in my control. East and west both will see their downfall soon. All political leaders and clergy are in my hand. If anyone thinks that my system can fall down so easily then let him try.”

Finally, Iblees comes to the point and tells everyone about a “REAL THREAT”.

“There is only one nation I am afraid of. That nation still has guts. I can still see few people who weep whole night and do ablution with their tears. He who has an idea knows that the real future threat to our system is not Mazdakism, IT IS ACTUALLY ISLAM.”

ISLAM!!!!!! All advisors were astonished. Looking at each other with questioning eyes that what has happened to Iblees? Why he is afraid of such a self-righteous nation. Iblees continues:

Iblees explains to his advisors what Islam really is and how it could become a real threat any time for satanic system. Muslims do not hold Qur’an in their hands right now and spending their lives according to capitalism. But the enshrouded constitution of Mohammad P.B.U.H could be exposed to them any time due to the conditions and then the satanic system will have no shelter on their heads. What that constitution is? Iblees explains:

1. Protection of women’s honor – (or the honor of the weak people in the society – regardless of their gender)
2. Testing of Men (or strong people in the society – regardless of their gender)
3. Message of death to all sorts of slavery
4. No kings, No beggars – Equality
5. Rich community as the custodian of the riches
6. The land is owned by GOD, not by kings

All advisors became uncomfortable after listening to the definition of Islam and got worried. But Iblees explained them how to prevent this real dangerous threat.

Whose despair does this latest Ordinance prove:
“To the Muslim in this age is forbidden fighting in Lord’s name”?

SECOND COUNCILOR
Is the clamour for “Government by the people” evil or good?
Art thou unaware of the fresh mischiefs of the world?

FIRST COUNCILOR
Aware am I! but tells me my cosmic foresight:
No danger from what is but a masquerade for imperialism.
We ourselves have dressed imperialism in the garb of democracy
When man has grown to be a little self‐conscious and self‐observant.
The true nature of the system of imperialism lies elsewhere:
It depends not on the existence of an individual leader of a king.
Be it a national assembly of the court of Parviz,
Whoever casts a covetous eye on other’s harvest is a king.
Hast thou not observed the democratic system of the West?
With a brilliant exterior, its interior is darker than Genghis’s.

THIRD COUNCILOR
No cause for anxiety then, if the spirit of imperialism be preserved:
But what counter‐measure to the mischief wrought by that Jew have you?

I can hardly explain what significance does the infidel penetrating vision possess:
It is, methinks, the day of reckoning for the peoples of the East and the West.
No greater corruption of human nature than this would be:
Slaves have broken asunder the ropes of the masters’ tents.

Watch its counteraction in the palaces of Imperial Rome:
Again did we inspire in the descendants of Caesar the dream of Caesar.

O thou! the fire of whose breath lends stability to the world‐process:
Whenever thou wished, everything hidden presently did thou reveal.
It is thy fire that has transformed dead earth and water into a world of beauty and endeavour:
Inspired by thy instruction, the fool of Paradise turns a seer.
More closely familiar with man’s nature than thee is not He:
Who among the simpletons is known as God the Sustainer.
Those whose business was confined to sanctifying, singing hymns and going round:
Thy sense of self‐respect has out them to shame for ever, with their heads hanging low.
Though the wizards of Europe all are disciples to thee:
No longer have I faith in their sagacity left.
That Jew, that mischief‐maker, that reincarnation of Mazdak:
Each tunic is about to be torn to shreds by his fanaticism.
Behold! the wild crow is vying with the falcon and the hyena:
Lo, how swiftly does the disposition of Time allow of a change!
It spread about, and covered the whole expanse of skies:
What we unwisely had taken for a handful of dust.
Such is the state of the ghastly dread of the morrow’s disturbance:
To‐day tremble with overwhelming awe, mountains, meadows and rivers all

That world is going to turn topsy‐turvy, my Lord!
The world which resteth solely on thy governance.
IBLIS (TO HIS COUNCILORS)
Absolute command have I of the world of scent and hue!
The earth, the sun, the moon and the firmaments all!
With their own eyes shall the West and the East witness the Spectacle:
When I but warm the blood of the nations of Europe.
The leaders of politics and the patriarchs of church all:
One call from me would be enough to turn them mad.
The fool who considers it to be mere glass‐work:
Let him dare smash the goblets and ewers of this Civilization.
The collars torn asunder by the hand of Nature:
Can’t be darned with the needle of the Mazdakite logic.
How could I be frightened by these Socialists, straying about the streets?
Wretched and straitened, distracted in mind, incoherent in speech!
The only menace I anticipate may come that community:
Which still a spark of ambition hidden in its ashes retains.
Amongst this people there are still to be seen a few
Who go so far as to perform their ablutions with the tears of pre‐morning hours.
Knows he to whom are revealed the inner secrets of Time:
Not Mazdakism, but Islam is to be the trouble of the morrow.

The same Capitalism is the religion of the Believer now.
And I know, too, that in the dark night of the East
The sleeve of the holy ones of the Sanctuary is bereft of the white, illuminating hand.

Lest the Shari‘ah of the Prophet should come to light one day:
Beware, a hundred times beware, of the Law of the Prophet!—
The protector of women’s honour, the tester of men’s capacities, the rearer of worthy men!
The message of death to any kind of slavery!
No sovereigns and no monarchs, no mendicants begging!
It does purify wealth of all pollution:
It makes the wealthy trustees of wealth and property.
What greater revolution in thought and action will there be:
Not to the crowned heads, but to God alone does this Earth belong!
Better, if this Law be kept hidden from the world’s eye:
So much the better, the Believer himself is deprived of inner conviction.
Better that he remains busy and entangled in the metaphysical theology:
Better, that he remains busy and entangled in the interpretations of the Book of God.

Whose cries of God is Most High could break the charm of the universe:
May the dark night of that God‐thinking man not ever turn bright!
Is the Son of Mary dead or is he endowed with eternal life?
Are the Attributes of God separate from God, or do they form what He is?
Does the expected mean Jesus of Nazareth?
Or a Renewer, endowed with the attributes of the Son of Mary?
Are the letters of the Word of God New or of Old?
In which of the doctrines does the salvation of the Blessed Community lies?
Are not enough to the Faithful in this age:
These idols of worship carved by Metaphysical Theology?
Our safety lies in that Believer remains a slave till Doomsday:
Renouncing this transitory world for others’ sake.
What is good in his case is that poetry and mysticism
Which may keep hidden from his eyes the game of Life.
Every moment do I dread the awakening of this community
Whose religion is, in reality, nothing short of taking account of the universe.
Keep him well absorbed in the thought and contemplation of God in pre‐morning hours:
Ye all make him grow stronger in his monastic disposition!
