وہ جو اس پار ہیں ان کے لیے اٍس پار ہوں میں
وہ جو اٍس پار ہیں ، اس پار سمجھتے ہیں مجھے


نیک لوگوں میں مجھے نیک گنا جاتا ہے
اور گناہگار ، گناہگار سمجھتے ہیں مجھے

حالات بدلنے میں جو دن رات لگا ہے
وہ آ کہ مری سوچ کے آثار بدل دے

وہ کام جفاؤں کے کہاں چھوڑ سکے گا
شاید کہ کسی روز وہ اوزار بدل دے

خاموش کھڑا ہوں کہ سبھی چیخ رہے ہیں
چیخا تھا کہ شاید کوئی اوتار بدل دے

تم سے کہیں ملا ہوں مجھے یاد کیجیے

منزل نہیں ہوں ، خضر نہیں ، راہزن نہیں
منزل کا راستہ ہوں مجھے یاد کیجیے

میری نگاہِ شوق سے ہر گُل ہے دیوتا
میں عشق کا خدا ہوں مجھے یاد کیجیے

نغموں کی ابتدا تھی کبھی میرے نام سے
اشکوں کی انتہا ہوں مجھے یاد کیجیے

گُم صُم کھڑی ہیں*دونوں جہاں کی حقیقتیں
میں اُن سے کہہ رہا ہوں مجھے یاد کیجیے

ساغر کسی کے حُسنِ تغافل شعار کی
بہکی ہوئی ادا ہوں مجھے یاد کیجیے

ہمیں تو تیرے عشق نے جہاں پناہ کر دیا

غزل غزل لہو ہوئے تیرے سکوں کے واسطے
وہ زخم تھے کہ جنکو ہم نے مہر و ماہ کر دیا

نظر کو تُو نہ مل سکا تو ہر طرف نظر گئی
خراب خانہ ِ جنوں ہوس نے آہ کر دیا

عدم کا قافلہ سہی، عزیز ِ مصر ہو نہ ہو
کہ ہم نے حسن ِ حرف کو سپرد ِ چاہ کر دیا

ایاغؔ گردشوں میں تھا، شراب ہم بھی پی گئے
عجیب بے کلی سی تھی، بس اک گناہ کر دیا

میرے چہرے پہ غم ِ ہجر کی جھریوں کا حصار

بجھ گیا شعلہ ِ جذبات، لُٹا چین و قرار
تُو ملا ہے بھی تو کس موڑ پہ اے جان ِ بہار

لب پہ ہے تلخی ِ دوراں کا گلہ، ہاتھ میں جام
اب نہ وہ صبح ِ تمنا ہے، نہ وہ شام ِ خرام

میری تصویر ِ تصور، میرا آشفتہ کلام
وقت ہر شے کو بہا لے گیا جُز زخم ِ مدام

دل کا سینے میں کہیں پر نہیں ملتا ہے سراغ
داغدار اتنا ہے دل، دل ہے کہ سینے کا ہے داغ

کیسے بجھتا نہ میری محفل ِ ہستی کا چراغ
اب کے تریاق میں بھی زہر ِ ہلائل تھا ایاغؔ
