saamaan kya mila hai bata is makaan say
kuch khuwab zard phool kitaab-e-wafa diye

meri zara si bhool ko largrzish bana diya
yun mera ghar jala k tujhay kya mila diye

asbaab kya liya hai andhiron k waastay
main ne sawaal pucha tu us ne kaha diya

mujh ko bujha gai theen zamanay ki aandhiyan
tujh para hawa ka hath tha tu kyun bujha diya ?

shaam-e-wisaal aai tu mehakti hawaaon nay
shaakhon se phool lay k zameen par bicha diya

tu bhi aseer-e-ishq hai itni se baat ko
tu ne quboolnay main zamaanay laga diya

ghabra gaya tha dekh k apni nigaarishein
main ne kitaab-e-zeest k purzay uraa diya ...
