Fareb-e-Zaat se niklo, Jahan k Saanihay dekho,
Haqiqat mukhtalif ho gi, kabhi to aainay dekho,

wohi ik ajnabi jis say ta'aluq sarsari sa tha,
hamare dil mein hote hen usi k tazkaray dekho,

likha hay waqt ne ye bhi ajeeb apne muqadar mein,
palatna hi nahi jisko, usi kay raastay dekho,

hamain samjho na khush itna labon ki muskurahat se,
hamari aankh mein phailay hazaron hadsay dekho,

thakay haaray se bethay thay, magar teri sada sun kar,
Shikasta'pa chalay aye, hamaray hoslay dekho.
