Ye akelay pan ki udasiaan, ye firaq lamhay azab se,
kabhi dasht-e-dil pe bhi aa ruken teri chahton k qaflay,

mein hun tujhko aziz'tar, ye kese maan loon hamsafar,
teri baat lagti hay wehm si, tere lafz lagte hen khawb se,

ye jo mera rang hay, roop hay, yunhi be'sabab nai dosto,
mere khushbuon se hain silsilay, meri nisbatain hen gulab se,

wohi mo'atbar hay mere liye, wohi hasil-e-dil-o-jan hay,
wo jo baab tum nay chura liya meri zindagi ki kitaab se,
