Default Suggestion to add Testimonials to this forum

I joined this forum back in 2014. August 11, 2014 to be exact- thanks to the forum for providing me with this piece of information. The history has been written. Thanks again to the forum, as this date will remind me forever exactly when I got serious about CSS and decided to take this exam. Call it a pleasant coincidence, as August 11 is my birthday as well (though my official DOB is a bit messed up). However, since I had not joined any academy for CSS exams, I had to seek guidance on internet and the place where I landed first was CSS Forum.

As I had no idea about this forum or about CSS for that matter, so many questions struck my mind, for instance, "why shoud I trust these people when I don't even know them?", "what if they are just here to misguide me on purpose? We are in competition after all." I went to the extent, "what if they are raw agents?" Ohmy! Alice in Thunderland?

Okay, this is a candid confession and I, for being so ridiculous and silly, owe a big apology to the very respected seniors, mentors, administrators and mods. Today, words would not suffice to thank them all, as I have finally discovered the precious treasures in this Forum, and still doing.

After maghrib prayers, today, as I was heading to library, the idea of having a section of testimonials for this forum came to my mind.

The already existing Member Reputation System is great and serves the purpose of testimonial in a way. Also, not everybody is going to be crook-headed like me. Furthermore, there are plenty of posts by civil servants where they attribute a part of their success to this forum. Their membership and active participation in this forum itself bears testimony to the credibility of this forum.

So the forum obviously does not need a Testimonial Section for its survival. However, I still think, it will be great if there is a testimonial section where members especially with CSP badges write their testimonials.

Testimonials could be written with regard to the forum in general or about the admins, mods and other active contributors. I would also want to know if there already exists such a section, in which case this long post of mine will sound funny and ludicrous on my part

Regards

You proved well that there is no need of any testimonial section.

Yes there is no absolute need. But there are already many posts and threads written as testimonials by the members but they are scattered at various places in this group. Shifting all these posts to one dedicated section and allowing all the new testimonials to be posted only in the said section will only improve the organisation of this forum.

I have seen testimonial section on other forums and personal blogs as well. For instance, it's there on your Flickr blog if you have one and also on Linkedin.

Though the work of admins and mods speaks for them and the content available here speaks for this forum, I have observed and you would agree that the admins, mods and mentors are not in the habit of praising this forum, as it will be tantamount to self-praising. So a dedicated section will at least enable many others write their heart about this forum.

One more suggestion here: an approval system may be added which will provide a mechanism to publish a testimonial only after it has been approved by the administrator. It will help keep the trouble makers at bay.

Anyways the introduction of this testimonial section to the forum is only a humble suggestion. I just thought to share the idea with the administrators.

Threads are enough. We do not need any separate section for testimonials.

Great. Although I had in my mind a Testimonial Section appearing at the top of Home Page where everybody (especially those new to the forum) could reach easily, these threads seem to be serving the purpose.
Thank you for your reply.
