Search module problem

Hello
I'm unable to use the search module at the top menu bar. When I click the Search menu item, the search forums text box opens. However, as soon as I start to type, the box disappears.
I'm using Huwavei Mate 10 Android 8.00 phone. Kindly suggest a fix. Thanks.
