Your Movement might be doing a great job but this is not FSF supported community. The Forum software is licensed and is not a free PHPBB. Hence, any kinda donation is out of question.
First of All, i appreciate the idea and services of the people who devised such form. This is the only forum which provide up to date and necessary information to young aspirants
secondly, i need some answers, as a member of this community. (if someone offended or felt insulted by my questions, i apologize beforehand);

Well it is free forum, then why didn't u use a PHPBB script instead of vBulletin v3.6.8 "registered one" or a Nulled script of the same?

What bandwidth cssforum.com.pk is consuming per day and how much MB's space it consumed, yet?

Do you want it to be moved to others server, so that they manage this forum, as u have some issues with it
Quote:
I am sorry for being harsh but I couldn’t resist. This forum was started years back hoping that it will help the CSS aspirants and till now it severed the purpose well. Since the traffic is growing day by day and the resources are limited, we don’t have a choice to put the site offline to avoid the poor server from crashing and rebooting over and over. There definitely are better and faster servers available but they would cost around $400-$500/month and considering the circumstances, we are no longer in a position to bare those expenses from our own pockets especially after having received such encouraging messages from members.
Do u want to handover all the hard work done for free, so that it be maintained properly?

I don't think so...............................................

That's the spirit! A bundle of thanks.

Wondering what other active members have got to say on this issue?

Default Premium Accounts

How about making two types of account on CSS forum?
One free account and other premium account.

Members will have to pay for premium account which in turn will give them more features on this site.

Lets say that members with free account will be restricted to post in limited numbers in a week or a month but premium account holders can post as much as they want.
Or premium account holders will have the facility to subscribe to posts unlike free account holders.
Or free account will let members to post in or even read selected forums only.

The features restricted to the free account type, can be discussed among moderators and administrator but my point is that to milk the CSS forum completely, users will need to get a premium account.

This way a new member can first get a feel of the forum before paying for the premium account and if he can't afford it, even then he will be able to read few posts.

It will also force the serious aspirants to pay as CSS forum is a academy in itself.

Since over a year's time, i visit this forum almost daily, at times twice a day or even more. From the female perspective, CSS exam prep is'nt easy. For males, its no issue, they can hang out as long as its convenient with their study mates, focus on their studies, go out at any time it suits them to buy books, get material photocopied, or meet anyone who might help out.
Its not like that for a female.
I started my exam preparation knowing that there was no way i will be going to an academy (for his good reasons my father is against all sorts of academy or tuition center, hence i have never been to one in my life). And there was no one with in my family and friends circle who was taking this exam in 2008.
I googled just to see if there was any help available on the internet and CSS Forum proved to be a great blessing. It was like being back to the university, the disussions, the news, the analysis... It gave me a feeling of assurance of being connected with others in the same boat. This forum means a lot to me. My heart goes out to all the moderators and website managers who run the show.

I dont have a credit card, but if there is an annual fees to be paid through a bank draft or crossed cheque, i am all for it.

i agree with you ,same situation here being a girl its difficult to think about Css without any guidence.guiding me was css forum.
during my preparation if there was anything bothering me i was quick to check the forum.
@administrators
hats off to administrators leonidas and Argus that they thought of this prestigeous effort, dont forget nothing comes for free espacially in Pakistan.
bravo to all moderators and staff members for their time and effort.
you know something strange that i have noticed is that when i talk to people espacially the css aspirants about the forum they shrugged most of the time ,pretending they never have visited the forum.how a person from a small city gets all the latest about css? abviously the forum.i dont understand this thankless atitude.
i am not only talking in this particular context but also we have developed this atitude in general which disturbing.

why members are not responding? girls and guys atleast appreciate the efforts of these poeple that are there for your help.
come on members!

This is the licensed version purchased from vbulletin.com. CSSForum is listed in the licensed users here (http://www.vbulletin.com/links.php?linkcatid=education). Free PHPBB cannot be compared with VB in terms of functionality and stability.

Space and Bandwidth is not an issue (we have plenty of them).. CPU resources and memory usage is... Current server specs:

Processor #1 Vendor: AuthenticAMD
Processor #1 Name: AMD Opteron(tm) Processor 246
Processor #1 speed: 1992.074 MHz
Processor #1 cache size: 1024 KB
Processor #2 Vendor: AuthenticAMD
Processor #2 Name: AMD Opteron(tm) Processor 246
Processor #2 speed: 1992.074 MHz
Processor #2 cache size: 1024 KB

I never said that i am handing over this site to anyone.. We will find a better server very soon.

Thank you all for the encouragement. really appreciated

Leonidas
I also appreciate the invaluable service provided by the administrator of this site
Well sir many of us don’t have a online credit card - gold card-
So if you provide us an account no. It will be easier for many of us to donate
I think the proposal of introducing a gold account, which could only be activated by paying some cash, is the best solution
No doubt u want to be altruistic but economics is also a harsh reality
Introducing a gold member section could also include the most valuable contributors. In this way your site will remain service oriented
And please pm me AC no as I benefited immensely from the site i will try to return some favor
