Attention:
Dear Administrator,
Undoubtedly, this forum is serving as the sole platform where aspirants can seek the best help pertaining to the competitive examinations. There is no question about the credibility of this forum. But majority of the moderators are either non-cps or those who have posts pertaining to poetry and fun stuff, and they are always there to extend their piece of kind advice to the aspirants which is highly unethical. Few CSPs also carry moderator tag but they are lower in merit. Non CSPs should not be allowed to advise on such important matters which may mislead the potential candidates. Hopefully, you'd pay heed to it, and would surely revise the policy of assigning moderator tag. Regards, |

Assalam-o-allaikum
Well thanks for the appreciating the credibility of the forum first of all As far as the moderators' job is concerned, kindly consider the following 1 - The moderator ribbon does not authorize us to reply to aspirants as an authoritative reply on matters regarding CSS. The CSPs and qualifiers are always more than welcome to post their reply. We have a great respect for all CSPs and Qualifiers and we never claim to be an authority on CSS. 2 - The nature of a moderator's job is a little beyond just replying to new aspirants. Primarily moderators have to deal with the thousands of new and old posts here. Deletion, cleaning up the useless posts, organizing the posts according to the respective forums etc. We spend a lot of our time in the last pages of the forums so as to make sure when some one visits he finds things in order. I wonder if a respected CSP is free enough for this job alongwith making sure he visits the forum daily. 3 - The moderators do post in the General Forums but if you carefully analyze, the ratio I am sure is fairly high on the side of useful posts in other forums (Details can be provided for each moderator) 4 - Moderators try their best to guide the aspirants only on matters they are sure about. If any senior feels that the moderator's guidance is insufficient or for that matter misleading, he is more than welcomed to correct it and that would be received with thanks. Quote:
We are here to assist the interaction between CSPs/Qualifiers and Aspirants. If at any stage you feel a moderator is wrong, he/she may be, seniors are expected to correct and let's make this interaction more useful and more team-like. Regards

Well MohsinShah, i addressed the Administrator of this forum in my post but got a reply from a moderator. Cool! Your reply is adequate as far as doing the clean-up job is concerned.

I humbly tried to represent the moderators here. The administrators will respond as they feel appropriate.

Alas this question has surfaced again. The issue was a headache last year and I hope it won’t be a trouble this time. Well Dear Asif Raza sahib this forum is a private enterprise and is meant for the benefit of Css aspirants free of cost. This is an interactive forum where everyone is free to question and answer. Moderatorship is not a real symbol of seniority that only or mostly csp’s should be considered for the Job.
Nature of Moderator ship and Factors kept in mind while appointing one The job of Moderator is simple, that is to keep the forum tidy, delete and edit unwanted posts and try and avoid trouble at forum. Here any layman can do the duty CSP’s are not required. Some other factors are
Secondly Moderatorship entails a lot of responsibilities and a csp cannot be expected to spend the amout of time that is required. The one’s who could manage were raised to the status of a Moderator. P.S : Moderators are part of the management therefore they can reply to the queries directed towards the administration if they do not reply in a reasonable time limit. Regards

Appreciate your feedback but I will have to agree with MohsinShah and MHM's.. Moderators of this forum are doing a great job and they are selected by the administration. In no way becoming a CSP or qualifier makes you eligible for moderatorship. Everyone has their own opinion and if you disagree with any of the post made by one of the mods, feel free to.. BUT this does not make them unsuitable for this job. The very issue was raised a couple of times before and again this discussion is not leading us anywhere. Case closed
