To be frank, I've earned enough of the reputation points which places me 2nd highest among the forum members & I'm really thankful to the members. But sometimes I don't comprehend when members ask questions while giving reputation and surely they want reply back in reputation box in order to gain some points. I remained Moderator on this forum for a reasonable time and I do confess that members misuse this system. Interestingly, I get repu points, when check the post there is no THANKS - what does it mean? :P

Reputation system should be closed.

Some flaws of this system.

1.)First of all there cannot be an effective control over the system which has already been explained in the thread i.e giving repu points when the receiver did not deserve them.Moreover the idea of strict control over this system by the moderators will give rise to friction between members and mods as different minds have different standards and whats deserving for one may not be deserving for another.

2.)The check on the misuse of this system i.e giving repu points to 20 persons before giving repu to the same person again, itself imposes the misuse of system.Consider this scenario

i liked a post of some member and i gave her repu points.after a week or so i again liked the post of same member and wanted to give her repu points but i was not able to do so as i have to spread repu points to other 20 members before giving it to her.then again after some time i tried to gave her repu points but again was unable to do so because of the same reason.Now this time i started giving repu points to members despite the fact that i dont considered their posts worthy of repu points.Hence i abused the system but i dont take the blame as i was forced to do so because of the limitation that was imposed.

3.)Out of the total repu points that i received i dont think i deserved all of them.Atleast 50% points i got were not deserved by me.

4.)Personal liking also plays a role here.

5.)The main aim of repu system is to express how much a member has contributed and that can also be judged from the no. of thanks that a person has received.

6.)This system can work adversely.Instead of contributing positively and concretely, members may turn their energies towards earning repu points.(Though i believe the members of this forum are mature enough to not to involve in any such activity.But still this can become a factor remotely)

7.CSS Forum has grown immensely over the period of time and now it is quite natural the repu system is now exposed to misuse and will continue to be misused.

In the light of my arguments i believe that this system should abolished.

Best decision is in the hands of management and moderators,supermoderators who are running this forum successfully from such a long time.

Moderators should not only be listened but also understood.Such small things as repu points to a certain person cannot be a cause of concern to any member let alone moderators.I believe we are over and above such things.BOth the parties should get into the others shoe and then view the whole scenario in order to have a better understanding of the issues.

Lastly guys just give it a thinking who have the most repu points on this forum, before being emotional.

This thread has been introduced to inform you about the disable of reputation points. It is clear notice at the forum. We don't need to argue or comment over the change. Besides, Management is not liable to entertain the members with replies and excuses over the decisions of management. Members might turn deaf ear on the Rules at the time of registration. It is clearly revealed that mods are unquestionable. We still tolerate and answer queries but it doesn't mean that our ignorance surpasses your arrogance. There are uncountable threads about questioning the reason of deletion, editing etc. We still provide the answer but you never pay heed on your own mistakes. Now it is truely intolerable. Members are suggested to explore the terms and conditions firstly.

This thread is being closed. Please don't force us to take strict actions. Keep enjoying access of CSSforum.
