Members Using Same Computers ..

Assalam o Alaikum ..

Dear Mods, I have seen some members getting banned and during posts exchanged between them and mods I have observed that they were using same computers with different IDs .. Were they banned for having a number of IDs themselves, or one cannot use the same computer at all for logging in at forum .. ? What if someone uses the computer of another active member and logs in from there .. ? Is that wrong .. ? Kindly clarify ..

Regards ..

We have no issue with different members using same computer. There are siblings and cousins who live in one house but they use one computer to use forum. This is not against rule and it is allowed. But one member with many accounts is clear violation of rules.

But how can you prove that a person is having like 2 accounts and its not his/her sibling or friend using the other account .. ? Do you have such mechanism to know that .. ?

P.S: Not investigating/questioning the forum, just asking out of curiosity ..

We have few techniques which we do not like to disclose. :) In doubts, we spare ids. At times, we inquire them. We merge accounts when the intentions are not wrong (e.g when the passwords are forgotten). But when we are 100% sure about multiple ids, we give them the time and chance to confess. When one confesses and apologizes, the original account is spared and the rest of the ids are banned. And when one doesn't confess, all of his accounts are permanently banned.
