pak-India: cricket match or war?

is it right to say that “in this match our nation's honour is at stake?"just like TV channels are depicting it.does our honour depends upon some sportsmen holding wooden sticks and rubber balls.is there any relationship between development and cricket?does America become super power by playing cricket? in Europe only England and Scotland have cricket teams,so other 26 countries should imitate them for any economic or political gain.

I think cricket, like other games should be played only for entertainment.there are many other fields where we can show our patriotism.Although games could be used for backtrack diplomacy,but here, I didn't see it coming.

its my opinion,you have right to disagree!

Games can play an important role to enhance people to people relations. But, unfortunately, in case of PAK-INDIA these escalate the relations; responsibility, at most, goes to media.From Social media to print all contribute well to create such a environment of rivalry.

i just say, thanks to our print and electronic media and theirs sensationalism.
Once i read a report related to cricket match, which relates that all the capital and investment made on such activities alone are sufficient enough to eradicate poverty from pakistan as well as india.
This is said to be perfect example of "Extravagence",
Wo kya kehtte han,
Ghareeb awam k shahkharchyaan
i believe these activities which are heavily trapped in rigging,money spending and most importantly time wasting hobby must be banned foreverly,

instead money should be spent on social welfare of poor people.

P.S.every body has its own opinion lakin mjhe iss game me kuch productive nazar nhy aya, that's why readers discretion is avoided.

Sporting events are multi dimensional in almost all countries. For rivaling nations it can be a means to flex muscles.

People's reactions in Pakistan and India's case are not surprising in the least.

Sports have important role in maintaining good relations with other countries. In case of Pakistan, majority of people is cricket enthusiast, so it is plus point. we can exploit this tool to establish cordial relations with our neighbors - India, Afghanistan.
There is no other game but cricket which is adored by masses of both of the countries, so we should rectify the maladies- you mentioned: corruption, favoritism etc- instead of banning cricket, if we want to see any productivity, which is hidden so deep under the debris of corruption and favoritism that you cannot see.

What about "juwah", entrenched corruption of "Mr. Shehryar", "Mr. Najam Set hi" has gone.
We need sportsman spirit not corrupt gangsters.
Pardon me, ghareeb mulkun main tajoryan sirf ameeroun k pharne hoty Han.
For example, last month t20 matches, pesa kahan gya?
Kitny academies khully.leg spinner and king of dusra, was trying to open the cricket academy, but all his efforts has gone in vain.

if only delivering speeches could cater the poor, then i would also prefer doing so. But we need pragmatic approaches to fed the poors,@Ursula.One of them is this to mend these mentioned things. You must know that we spend most of our GDP for defense purposes, Why???? if we halve this we would have flourishing economy;eventually, it will cater the needs of the poor. But, now we cannot halve this because of adverse relation with our neighbor, India. So if you really wants to help the poor you should support this sport diplomacy. I am not saying this is the only way to conciliation with India there are many more but at this time i am confining myself to the sports only.

Well, I believe resolve nuclear trilemma which is the main culprit in fomenting colonial mindset, than ofcaurse this cricket diplomacy is no more needed.Yup! It brings people to people interaction, but kept this thing in your mind that such a mentality can work in Europe , cause what is happening on wagha border is a case study that we have just obtained a separate borders not a separate identity.Both sides are boasting off their haterism and national egoism.And in such cases its just a maladroid drama.
