Aisam-ul-haq Qureshi & Rohan Bopanna win Germany ATP Tournament
 

[B][I][COLOR="DarkRed"]The Indo-Pak Express earned its first doubles title of the year by winning the Gerry Weber Open on Sunday in Germany.[/COLOR][/I][/B]

Pakistan’s Aisam ul Haq Qureshi and India’s Rohan Bopanna beat Hasse-Roanic 7-6, 3-6, 11-9.

The duo has been making gradual progress in recent years, making it to the quarters and semis of major tournaments.

Recently, they had crashed out of the men’s French Open doubles quarter final in June while reaching the semis of the Monte Carlo ATP Masters Tennis Championship in May.

Earlier this month, Aisam achieved his career best ranking of number eight in the ATP men’s doubles rankings, while rising to number two in the Asian men’s rankings.

ISLAMABAD, June 12 (APP): President Asif Ali Zardari congratulated Pakistani tennis star Aisam ul-Haq on winning double event of the Gerry Webber Open in Halle, Germany on Sunday.In a message, the President said Pakistani nation is proud of the achievement of Aisam-ul-Haq and wanted him to bring more laurels for the country.Players like Aisam are a source of inspiration for youth, he added.The President assured of the government’s full support to talented players performing well in international tournaments.Aisam-ul-Haq along with his Indian partner Rohan Bopanna defeated Dutch Robin Haase and Canadian Milos Raonic in the final.
