Assalam o alaikum to all Competitive Minds,

As u all know that about 6000 candidates applied for this post and more or less 893 qualified the written portion. These 893 were seived through psychological test and then the number reduced to 260. They were interviewed against 40 seats in total.

I think interview centers were Islamabad,Lahore, Quetta, Peshawar and Karachi. Interviews have gotten an end now. Anybody who knows about the final selection?

I have heard that calls for medical test will be made around eid ul fitr... lets see when the result of interviews is out and when midecal calls are made..lets hope for best of result...Aameen

My suggestion to all the candidates: Plz be patient and keep yourself engaged in other activities donn't loose your weight by seriously waiting for the result. I was selected as AD ISI in 2005. The complete selection process took almost 2 years starting from written test to the final job order. One of the reasons behind delay is secret investigation of prospective candidates regarding geniuness/suitablity/n free from political affiliation. Finally you will be served with a form containing arrount 10 pages in triplicate to fill in and submitt. Afterwards a final selection list will b decided. When you receive that confidential 10-page form do not consider it as final job order b/c its a final step in selection process and your merit is decided after the completion of that form. But be sure that those who receive that form are most desreving candidates b/c that form is sent to the candidates having top score. And not all these candidates are offered job order. Some of them are kept in waiting list just to fill emergency vacancies in case the candidates already selected do not join the services.

Sir can u also let us know how much time the whole procedure takes after the interview..and which more tests do we have to go through during this period...(u have already mentioned about the form filling though)

Dear: After final interview there is no any test/interview/formality except requirement of 10-page form and medical test. But right from your final interview days investigation process starts n this assignment is carried out by nearest ISI circle head (i.e that ISI circle is normally at ur district level if not thn at division level depending upon area's geo-political importance) and special police of your district/division. The person who will b inspecting your where abouts n assets+liabilities (what u own and what u owe)..political back ground.....home police station and nearest court will b of inspector/sub inspector/hawaldar level.

Medical test will b similiar to ISSB/Armed forces medical test. But b sure those who r called for medical test rarely get dropped b/c ISI admn never tries to loose their selected candidates through this extensive process. But any serious deficiency may cause u loose ur job order n in that case the candidates from waiting list are immediately called to fill the gape. Your medical test will be conducted at ISI headquarter at RWP/Hamza Camp. Arround 30-45 candidates are selected every year. And quota is available for all the provinces. My batch comprised 36 officers from all over the Pakistan.

After medical test u will ve 2 sign a bond n resume ur duties. u will be given 10 to 12 days time to decide n sign the bond to resume duties after clearance of Medical test.

Note: There is a column about weight in the post interview form. My suggestion to heavy weight prospective candidates: keep waiting for result seriously Insh Allah u will loose ur weight. And for under weight prospective candidates: Donn't wait for the result enjoy ur life in entertainment to gain few more KGs.


As such there z no any channel 2 enter into police deptt etc through ISI b/c its civil service but that option z availble for militry officials.

I wanna know,what kinda bond we hav to fill,and is there any other opportunitity for higher studies throug ISI,like scholorships,study leave etc.I m an Electrical Engr,is there any specific branch in ISI for Engrz?

Yes u do ve related scope in this agency........but it z less likely 2 continue ur further studies as smoothly as u wish...Bond will be of 3 to 5 years time duration. n if u wanna leave this org before the expiry of agreed time u wil ve 2 compensate in financial terms .....that z affordable.....but its not so easy 2 leave this org after u resume ur duties n become part of this crucial organization due to various reasons.........Candidates from ISI do appear in CSS exams if they wish 2 b CSPs as such there z no any apparent restriction to appear in CSS.....but their probability 2 attain success in CSS declines 2 a substantial level. Well comparatively CSPs better than ISI officers based on different factors(Social life, career growth, independence, say in decision making, peace of mind, risk mitigation.....etc) but these factors do not carry weight if ur attitude n aptitude matches this job profile.

Would u like to tell me about the salary package of AD ISI ,and other facilities,and about the futher promotionz and career growth......

Initial Package z 18000+.............it falls in 20s
and all other rules / regulations / facilities of civil service r same in this job. Promotions are slow....n there r some reasons behind slow career growth in this org which cann't b declared on this public forum.....u will better know about these things after u join this service..............i don wanna discourage u but u must b ready for all these possibilities.
