It will take almost 3-4 months for interview after written test.
Focus on security related terms in interview preparation like what is IED, different security concerned areas of airport, Bomb threat or hijacking dealing situations etc. And about your personal and academic qualification. Some questions from geography.
ASF prime duty is to safeguard airport and installation there. They conduct search of passangers. ASF inspector has power of SHO according to law but it is not exercised practically due to some reasons. It is very courteous job, you will have to compromise on many things to remain courteous. ASF hand over the culprits to the concerned agencies like police, FIA. No self action.
Training of 6 months in karachi and starting sallery is around 29k.

Inspector ASF has no 16 grade authorithy in practice, prime focus of the department is on 'courtesy' with passengers, and on facilitating the passengers, no matter how discourteous and rude the passengers might be. The department suffers from a chronic shortage of female staff, due to which female inspectors are forced to perform menial duties like baggage search, stamping etc. themselves. Male staff up to the level of inspectors and Dy. ADs, has to perform outdoor duties even in harsh climatic conditions.

Strict discipline is enforced on the ASF staff by the department. Action is taken by the department on minor violations. Juniors up to the level of inspectors and Dy. ADs are bound to obey even unlawful orders of the Coy Commanders (Assistant Directors), and violation of senior's instructions is considered a punishable offence, no matter how unethical and unlawful the instructions might be. Promotions are hopelessly slow. Conveyance provided by the department is not up to the mark. The one and only plus point is good salary package as compared to many other govt. departments, though other facilities are negligible. There is no concept of public holidays in ASF, staff doesn't get to avail the number of leaves officially allotted to them.

P.S. I am a serving inspector in ASF.

The current starting salary of an Insp. ASF is about Rs. 28,000 per month. Inspector is promoted to the rank of Dy. AD after 10 years of service, and a Dy. AD is promoted to the rank of AD after another 10 years of service. It is to be noted that both Inspector and Dy. AD are in Grade 16, with the only difference that the Dy. AD receives an additional allowance of Rs. 150 per month. Interview is conducted around 5-7 months after written test. Training is started a month after selection, and the candidates join their place of posting 15-20 days after the completion of training.

Senior ASF
Please Share some views about the Interview Content for ASI In ASF. I am called for it. Many thanks.

My interview was on 12 march in karachi. For ASI
It was so simple, there were three member panel. They asked me only personal question ' What's your father, source of income, number of sister and brother.
Then they asked why do want this job?
And in last they asked about expected salary, I said I want this job first then salary. But they said tell the amount , and I said sir Within 20 to 30 thousand..
but when I inquired about the salary of ASI I was surprised because it is 16 to 18. So I am now apprehensive whether I'll reciev offer letter or will have to wait for good..
Senior plz comment on this.
