Yes, I am an Inspector in ASF, been serving since 3 years now.

Yes a bi-seater i.e. a room shared between two officers at ASF camp, messing and free bus service from camp to airport is provided

Do ASF officers get any kind of discount on air tickets?

During training on weekends can we visit our homes since I am from Karachi?

1) No such discount
2) yes Saturdays and Sundays are off. You can obtain out pass/ night pass and go to your home.
3) Airport is divided into a few sectors, and each Dy. AD is the commander of a sector. Duty is supervisory. You only have to observe and supervise the work of your subordinates.

By the grace of The Almighty, I got selected against the only open merit seat (merit 1). I am already serving as Assistant Registrar (BS-16) in Cooperatives Department of Punjab government. At present I am undecided whether ASF post in the same scale has any edge over my incumbent post. Those serving in ASF are requested to guide.

Starting salary of a Dy. AD ASF is 30k. After 10 years of service, Dy. AD is promoted to the rank of AD (Bps 17). ASF operational staff works in shifts - morning, afternoon, 1st night, 2nd night etc. So the timings are rather odd. There are no public holidays. The authority of a dy. AD ASF is limited to the premises of the airport. Now you can compare this job with your current job in terms of salary, chances of growth etc. and decide for yourself which one to choose.
