there was proposal to reduce the service period from 8 to 5 years, minimum B.A qaulificatin and 3 attempts however the same has not been approved. It seems that upcoming SOPE will be conducted as per previous scheme.

I visited FPSC office today and inquired about SOPE. I was told that experience required is counted from the date when one is appointed on regular basis in BS-11 to BS-16 and so contract period is not considered. Secondly, the syllabus for SOPE has been revised; more papers have been added. Thirdly, though Establishment Division has previously proposed eligibility criteria that BS- 07 to BS-16 employees who hold Bachelor's degree and have put in 8 years service would be eligible but when inquired from the Division I was told that this suggestion has been rejected by the PM; rest reforms were accepted.
In my opinion all employees in BS-07 and BS-09 should raise their voices over this as it will cost their precious years and if the eligibility criteria is so an unchangeable thing then the 8 years experience should be made overall government experience in any scale instead of restricting it to in BS-11 to BS-16. Employees in BS-07 and BS-09 have similar responsibilities as compared to BS-14. So, rather wait for some 10- 15 years or try apprise the elites about our demands!

There is no mention what kind of optional subjects they included. However other conditions seems rational.
