2. According to a notification, the post/cadre of Inspector Customs and Intelligence Officers have been merged into one cadre and renamed as ‘Inspector Customs/Intelligence Officer. They will be called Intelligence Officer during posting under the Directorate General of Intelligence & Investigation-FBR and Inspector Customs while posted in rest of the Customs field formations.

You have any idea about new recruitment??And congratulations to you and all other selected candidates.

Now that the post of deputy superintendent has been erased and over 80 percent of customs officers of bs 16 and 17 are going to retire till 2020, the prospects of promotions seem bright. Even in grade 16, its better than several other jobs.

hey salam I got the letter whatid the next procedure and the postman was inquiring about the rest of candidates in KPK phase 6 he told me someone was not recieving call and house changed in Hayatabad Phase 6

Dear friends first of all congratulations to all successful candidates.

Some friends are considering Apprasing and valuation officers more lucrative and best as compare to preventive officers but if we cosider the job duties of both the jobs they are seemed quite same

Job Duties of preventive officers:
(i) Prevent smuggling and collect Customs duty on dutiable items in accordance with the Customs Act, 1969.
(ii) To asses and realize duty and taxes on dutiable items.
(iii) Gathering information and intelligence about revenue evasion and prevention thereof.
(iv) Preparation of seizure and contravention reports.

Job Duties of Apprising and valuation officers:
(i) Examination of export/import consignments/ goods at wharfs/ Dry ports/ Airport/ Customs stations etc. and detection of mis-declarations.
(ii) Reconciliation/audit of temporary import bonds (Raw material & machinery).
(iii) Assessment of duty/taxes and determination of value of consignment in accordance with the Customs Act, 1969.
(iv) Confirmation of Pakistan Customs Tariff(PCT) headings, ascertains and cross checks the value, type quality and quantity of the consignment.

These are almost identical jobs. I don't know lucrative in what sense.
