Hey All!
Is there anyone who has been convoked for UN YPP exam in December i would be happy to make a study group for the preparation

which job family have you chosen?

Has the registration process closed? If not, what is the last date to apply ?

I had applied but did not get any email or anything. When is the exam ? Do we have to check status by own or do we get email?

Hey! Kindly go to YPP UN webpage and insert your application ID under Convocation Status bar, you will know your application status . They are not sending emails yet.

I have lost my id number, how can i know my concoction status, i asked them but they said they can not tell me without id number

Yes , they had send me an email yesterday saying,

Dear Applicant,

This is to inform you that the United Nations has finished screening of applications from external applicants for the 2015 Young Professionals Programme. You have been convoked to sit the 2015 YPP examination in the job family you applied to.

Please look up the status of your application at careers.un.org under Convocation status and Examination centres. All relevant information will be timely posted under Important updates.

I had logged in and checked my status , which says , i need to sit in written examination to be held on Dec 15, 2015. They will provide details of test center and time later.

hi,
it's a question for selected candidates. is there a particular criterion that UN select candidates for test. how do they prioritize as not many are selected even to take this YPP exam. does the relevant work experience of the candidate matters? since they didn't ask for much experience as a criterion to be eligible as a candidate for the test. what are the general qualifications of the candidates going to take test, like their education etc? kindly respond.

Sorry for being late in reply. As far as my short listening is concerned , the only positive point in my application was my experience.

I have a Master degree in International Relations, moreover i am working in a very well reputed foreign news agency since June 2011.

I had written my cover letter very carefully , in fact I wrote that letter and my colleague, who is a news editor, had crafted my letter really nicely.

Yes, no experience was required for YPP but I am pretty sure that they do consider experience. As I remember I had applied in 2011 as well, with the experience or merely two months, but that time they had not bother to convoke me.

So I would say, experience of very well reputed organisation plus cover letter helped me in short listing.

AS FAR AS I KNOW, we as PakistaniS cannot apply for ypp. you HAVE TO BELONG TO CERTAIN COUNTRIES FOR THAT.
