Let's Start Preparation for FPSC English Lectureship Test
 
Dear concerned,
FPSC has announced thirteen vacancies (13) of lectureship in English at Federal Colleges/Garrison & Cantonment Colleges on 22nd May, 2011. The last date for applying to this job is 16th June, 2011.

This thread, however, is aimed at jointly preparing for the test to be conducted in due time by FPSC against the above said posts.

The syllabus comprises on the following broad outlines;

For English

Part-I (Master’s Level) (70 Marks)
1. English Literature 14th to 20th Century.
2. Vocabulary
3. Structuring of Sentences.
4. Linguistics.
5. English Language Teaching.
6 Grammar.
7. Syntax.
8 Diction.

Part-II (30 Marks)
1. Teaching Techniques and Methodology
2. Classroom Management and Discipline
3. Testing and Evaluation
4. Development of Education in Pakistan



Let's collect the relevant material against each section/part of the test outline. Together, we can make it easy and achieve more in less time.

Thanks redmax. Do you have any idea about the test pattern and the total marks etc ? and fpsc has not yet updated the site about the syllabus for this post, so how do you know about the syllabus??

Sister, the pattern of the test has already been explained in detail in the first post above. It will be OBJECTIVE type test comprising of 100 MCQs. The syllabus is also mentioned above.

Yes, I'm sure about it. The reason being my prior appearance in the similar test for similar post advertised last year, currently awaiting result.

Have a look at this example.

Q: The Lincon's model of teaching suggests that:

A. teacher must be friendly towards students
B. teacher must be impersonal towards students
C. teacher must know complete background & beliefs of every student
D. teacher must not communicate with students beyond the classroom



This is most simple I could think of at this moment. Now, let your imagination chase wildest fancies of FPSC from where the latter would fetch questions and put before us in the actual test.

Last date announced by fpsc is 6th june, as per my knowledge.Please check it again.
