Default Plz Help me.

Respected members i need your help regarding my interviews. actually i did bachelors in Chemistry securing very low marks even below 50%, after that i did masters in business administration securing a good gpa of 3.5
Now i face a sever problem in my interviews. in every interview be that for Ast.dirctor or MTO or any other job, i face same questions, i have no answer for these questions, due to which im unable to get a good job despite of securing more than 80% in every job test (aptitude test), they don't consider my present performance but discuss about my past. Quetsions are

1. why did u do MBA after bsc in Chemistry? it seems that u could not get admission in Msc due to low marks in bsc and you had no other option than MBA.
2. why did u do Mba from a substandard university?
3. why did u jumped from chemistry innto Business administration.

plz members help me answer these question. im tensed.

Well you answer to 1st query is that if low marks were the only criteria for admission to higher degree then you would never had got admission any where. Plz note that for admission to Bachelor/Master degree university requires second class education which starts from 45%. You should divert that question like that you have had interest in MBA from very start but due to insufficient financial resources you got BSc from college side and then joined MBA or you can say that initially you wanted to join scientific field but after due to some motivation you dicerted your field intentionally.

2. you must show that you didn't knew that the university you were getting admission was substandar/not recognised. You can say that you knew it after 1 semster/year so you were unable to quit then.

I hope this will help you.

thanks for reply, i am getting some morale. but whenever i tell them i had a management aptitude but studied science unwillingly, they say why so late? why didnt u decided after bsc.
and my university though recognized but not as good as Lums and Iba, and i just regret that why did i do mba. i think interviewer should consider my present performance, not my background? but everywhere interviewer hit me caz of my background.

Well educational background and current aptitude both are very much important and employers do consider it. I have Masters in chemistry and I also have done Law after that as I have interest nothing else. I never thought of practice law and again i m doing Ph.D in chemistry these days. So you need to explain what were the real reasons behind your decisions. For example you must say that your financial condition never allowed you to join institutions like LUMS or IBA or you made your mind after doing BSc that your aptitude suits management, these both points are strong enough to convince others.. You can count your BSc by saying that i have understanding of both science and commerce also so it enhances your overall approach.

Thumbs up

Seema! It's nice to know that you made a great come back by securing 3.5 GPA in your Masters. Even that much is enough for you to be rewarded.

The sole weakness that you have right now is the statement "....i have no answer for these questions....."....I intend to say that you please don't think like that. You are a brave and resilient girl, so you should have this in mind that 'yes! I can answer every sort of question and I can face every situation, no matter how puzzling and bewildering it might be.' The next moment you'll Insh'allah see that you can confront and overcome whatever comes in your way.

The answers by Alimallah are to a greater extent witty indeed.

Welcom. Yes off course you should point out your positive points and let them forget considering your past background. you should be confident enough at your level to convince others...

When they ask 'Why so late?', just tell them, 'Better late than never'.
