Ms. Nayla Khan you are eligible at any level of study, because the validity of that test is only 2 years. If you think that your final degree will be completed in few months and you want further studies like MPhil/PhD through HEC scholarship than go ahead.

If you want to study PhD in Pakistan than go for the GAT-Subject.

Mr. Sohail Kamran she is asking about GAT-Subject which is different from GAT-General.......for GAT-Subject you have 18 year education or your 18 year education is on final stages...otherwise it is useless to appear in this test.

@ Miss Nayla Khan you can appear in the GAT-Subject which is for admission in PhD studies...So if you want to go with PhD you have to appear either you want to take admission now or one year later as the validity of this test is 2 year....good luck

Please confirm if i can appear in the GAT subject test because i want take admission in PHD later on.

Currently i am in third semester of my MS-IT program(equivalent to Mphil,18 years of education). My third semester will finish next week and then fourth semester will be pure research.

There is contradictory information present on the NTS website.

On the page of NTS FAQ's, Q24 its mentioned 16 year of education is fine.

http://nts.org.pk/MISC/FAQ.htm

While,on this other page of NTS website 18 years of education completion is mentioned..

You can appear in it now. As NTS is not requiring any document as proof of 18 year schooling hence do not worry about it. Just mention the result of MS part in the column of the 18 year education in form and send it you'll be allowed to appear.

When I was in M.Phil I applied for the GAT-Subject and passed after that my admission was converted to Ph.D hence its not necessary to complete MS/M.Phil first.

Its compulsory for direct admission to Ph.D or transfer/conversion of already enrolled candidate in M.Phil to Ph.D.

Go ahead and save time, no issue at all

Regards

@ Ali Mallah thanks for the information.I am happy to know that i can appear in the GAT subject test

In the Gat subject form for 18 year education i should mention MS-IT with 2013 as year of completion, since my session for MS-IT is 2011-2013 ?

What about the Obtained Percentage they are asking, should i mention my CGPA till second semester i.e 4.00 CGPA ?

Yes you can write passing year as 2013.

If %age is not given in the transcript/marks certificate then count your obtained marks and calculate percentage and write in the form, its not a big deal.
