Lecturer criteria by HEC
Eligibility Conditions for appointment of faculty in all disciplines excluding Engineering, Information Technology, Computing Sciences, Medical Sciences, Law and Arts & Design (Studio Practice) disciplines in all Universities and Degree Awarding Institutions.
Minimum Qualifications *First Class Master's Degree OR equivalent degree awarded after 16 years of education in the relevant field with no 3rd Division in the academic career from an HEC recognized University/ Institution. Condition of no 3rd division shall not be applicable in the qualification of appointment as lecturer in Universities or Degree Awarding Institutions provided that the candidate holds a higher degree viz. M.Phil/PhD or equivalent degree with not more than one 3rd division in entire academic career. Furthermore, the candidate with 2nd Division in the Master’s Degree but holding higher degree i.e. M. Phil/PhD or equivalent degree with 18 years of education could be Considered. *First division (1st Division) in Master of Arts in English is relaxed in favour of the second division (2nd Division) as the minimum eligibility condition for appointment of Lecturers in English for Annual System degree holders for a period of five years. w.e.f 24-02-2007. I want to ask that according to hec above mentioned criteria, a masters person is able to be a lecturer in above mentioned departments. some one told me that from 2014 condition of mphill will be imposed. is that true? |

Though I don't have any information about that but let me tell you one thing that HEC has invested lot of bucks in the indigenous scholarship program and this program is now paying back. So my point is that there would be many Ph.D holders available for these slots so the Master degree holders would lose their utility, automatically. Those people who are interested in the field of teaching at the University level should go after Mphil and PhD as the competition is going tough in this field.

Well universities mention eligibility criteria for lecturer as first class master degree, but their preference is M.phill and higher degree, as in case of Sargodha university sub campus lecturers they call m.phill holder candidates for test for various posts. For university teaching jobs research work and thesis is given more preference. So for university lecturer one must attain higher degree.

HEC dual policies
Dear All
I have done Mphil finance in 2012. As per HEC criteria, I am eligible for the said post but adds published by like VComsats "http://vcomsats.edu.pk/documents/Eligibility_Criteria.pdf" Reveal that they want lecturer with one 2nd Division in whole academic career, I have two but I have 1st Division at mPhil. I have contacted HeC relevant persons but they are silent on the said issue. They didn't reply any email in this regard, just referring to next one. What should I do now. Dear Fellows! HEC Criteria is "http://www.hec.gov.pk/InsideHEC/Divisions/QALI/QADivision/Documents/All_disciplines%20_July%202013.pdf" |

If some one got 72 % in SSC 1999 48 % in FSC 2002 52 % in BSc 2005 51 % in MA 2007 CGPA 3.1/4 in MBA 2009 CGPA 3.3/4 in M.Phil 2014 as she/he got 48% D grade in FSC (from BIEK) , but many organization as per the rules (employers rules) consider its as 3rd division and rejected for jobs and also rejected by HEC for various scholarships due to D grade. Now I am looking for seniors advice , is she/he eligible for lecturer post or not as per HEC rules.? and is it possible to repeat intermediate (FA) as private candidate to overcome that deficiency ?
