Lightbulb Secure Government Job VS prosperous Private

Salams,

I want to get your recommendations regarding the situation that if someone having a good salary i.e. 75-100k in private job (IT sector, because it is the most and only demanding industry now a days) is offered a permanent job in Government sector at 17 scale (pay: 30-40k), what should he do? or what you would do if you were in that place?

Considering Pros and Cons of both, i.e.:

Private Job in IT sector are very rewarding; good salary with high increments, by which you can make your life prosper. But uncertainty about long term future and old age/retirement. Demands hard work.

On the other side, government job are secure but limits the person to live a moderate life or you can say just hand to mouth. But seems honorable in Pakistan as well as gives peace of mind in long term and retirement.

So, what you suggest; should one keep his private job or go for government; keeping in mind that switching back to private is almost impossible?

Was,

A combination of push and pull factors influences the decision of a person to opt for career in any of the two sectors. You have mentioned some. I my view the following should be included in the list as well.
1. Personality
2. Interests
3. Skills and Abilities
4. Values
5. Personal or family experiences
6. Culture and social drivers
7. Motivators
8. Family pressures
9. Perceptions
10. Availability of jobs.
11. Financial rewards.
12. Power :-)

Take some time out and reflect on these factors. Hopefully it will help you.

P.S: We all try to get what we lack.

Yes, but I think it will be difficult if the job timing is 8 hours i.e. 8.00-4.00PM. Only teachers and defence forces persons can enjoy 8.00-02.00 timing.

if you have a charge to accepts challenges in private sector , i suggest pv sector having very boom if you have already your first click at a very good level that is about 75k to 100k, in other hand most of people who get scale 17 job, just for there self satisfaction than its good but if they need monetary benefits most of them used corruption, so if you just need prestige and commitment with slow promotion you do govt job but if you accept challenges you can do better after chosing pvt sector
