NOTE: Attempt any FIVE questions all questions carry equal marks.

Q. 1. Balochistan was hit by Drought recently. What was its dimension and intensity? As Press Reporter you visited a drought-affected area and a camp to study the extent of loss and relief work. Please draft an article fir your newspaper.

Q.2. The National Tax Survey is underway at present in thirteen big cities if country. Why is this Survey inevitable? What has been the overall response of traders to this Survey? Please draft News Story highlighting the response of traders of Quetta City and the latest Survey progress here.

Q.3. Is the Press free in Pakistan today? What Code of Ethics the Press must follow in the interest of Public Service.

Q.4. A newspaper is a team – work. What type of team and main functions are required for daily newspaper?

Q.5. To what extent has the Television (TV) replaced the Broadcasting (Radio)? Explain their comparative popularity in urban and rural areas.

Q.6. Is Journalism a Mission or Industry or both today? What should be the qualities of a true Journalism?

Q.7. What is “Editorial”? How is it different from a “News Story”? What are the qualities of a good Editorial?

Q.8. What is “Infomration Technology”? How has it benefited the developed countries? Where Pakistan stand in his this field today?
Q.9. Population Explosion is the topic of the day in Pakistan. How can media play it role effectively to tackle this national issue?

Q.10. Write notes on any THREE of the following topics: -

i. Press Photographer;
ii. Associated Press of Pakistan;
iii. Recent discovery in Human Genome
iv. Commercial Advertisement on PTV;
v. Yellow Journalism;
vi. Any daily news paper of Quetta; and
vii. Main sources of “news” collection for a daily newspaper.
