URDU Books for PSC
 

Dear All,

the paper pattern of PSC Urdu paper is as follows;

[B]PAPER I[/B]

Essay writing 50 marks


[B]PAPER II[/B]

History of urdu adab 25 marks
Peotry translation 15 marks
precis 15 marks
comprehension 15 marks
letter writing 15 marks
idioms 10 marks
sentence correction 5 marks

One of colleague on this forum has advised the following books.

[B]---- Urdu optional PMS by caravan book house.

---- For essay "Urdu Mazameen" by Dogar publishers.[/B]


Are these books enough or we need some other book to go through. Kindly make your recommendations about books for Urdu paper according to the paper pattern.

Thanks for your help. I visited the book shop but didnt find the book, unfortunately.

Does it cover all the topics I mentioned above - Precis, letter, expansion from poetry, history of urdu adab, idioms etc - or some of them? As AJK PSC paper is quite different than that of Urdu paper under FPSC; it is a applied type of thing like out english papers in CSS.


And what is your view about a book of Sohail Bhatti about Urdu?

For history of Urdu Adab,buy Dr.Saleem Akhter's Urdu adab ki mukhtasir tareen tareekh.Yeah Sohail Bhatti is fine though not the best yet will surely help you.
I didn't see myself the book by Emporium Publishers but heard a good repute of it.
For letter,take a grammar of F.A level.
For Idioms,have a look over it;
