plz, some one guide n refer some useful books for preparation of direct short service commision test particular in field of IT.

look forward posivitive response.

are you applying for PAF or Army?
i think army? did you already appeared in DSSC exam?

They emphasize on general CS concepts like Networking, OS, Programming concepts, Algorithms and Data structure,so these are main topics !

Supporting topics are DB,Software engineering, computer architecture.


Better to look for online resources / handouts !

All the tests would be same.

Initial tests

1.English
2.Intelligence tests
3. last part would be subject related.as far as i remember 40 questions will be related to your subject.

there is no need to buy any book for subject as you have studied it.it is a general subject related test

if you want to practice the IQ related questions you can buy any book available in the market for ISSB and Army tests

thanx to both for replyin' but bit late i cleared preliminary test 10 days before and physical on 2nd august.

some changes seen like
physical test first time held for girls and it was uphill task.

secondly, it is being heared that they scheduling to take interviews before ISSB.

1. i need some guidance regarding interview pattern.
2. second, do they call all candidates qualified in preliminary selection for ISSB.

look forward recieving positive and prompt response.

they will ask routine questions,basic mthematics,field related and physics.And to verify the things written on bio-data forms.they mostly call all the candidates for ISSB.But in some cases i have seen some candidates who were not called by ISSB even after passing initial tests.

Dear be prepared for every type of question.but most probably they will ask general questions regarding the field.

Like what is Modem
what is differentiation,integration
shape of sine,cosine,tan,word problems
general knowledge like capital of country
what is the square of this number,cube of the number.
your final year project.
some questions about your family background,your fav personality etc etc

if the panel takes the interview it will be difficult.if a single person takes the interview it would be quite easy.Usually inital interviews are not very difficult.

ISSB focus on the general questions like basic maths,basic physics and your personality.

The initial intelligence test etc are very easy if u have a conceptual mind.... Main things are your Medical fitness and your hold on your own academic subjects... and try 2 b positive in your interview

I have passed the initial test for Supply Branch of Paksitan Navy.
My hight is 5F 6inch. What must be my weight for qualifying the medical?
Supply brance has only office work, so how much weight is important?
