I have a query about joining army L/C
 

Aoa guys i want to know about Long Course.. My friend is Bs Engineer.. He want to join army.. can he apply for long course..a friend of mine told me he cann't apply for long course.. he may apply for short course.. i wanted to confirm are these both courses are same.. i don't mean type (one year or two year) course.. i mean after completion of course (both courses) same rank are offered.. and promotions are same.. :con

yes he can apply.but his age should be not more then 24 years.

No he can just apply for short service commission (SSC). Vacancies are announce every year for short service commission in engineering field along with other graduation fields. For long course age factor counts. and it is limited to 21 or 22 years I think so. I am not sure. You can check criteria from [url]www.joinpakarmy.gov.pk[/url]
Long Course:
Two years training in PMA Kakul. You have to do graduation also with training routine. I mean you have to study also. Its very much tough routine in long course and after completing training you will be graduated and given the rank of 2nd. Lieutenant (2/Lt). Later on you have to serve in any assigned unit. Long course is announced after every six months. Requirements for long course are just FSc. and Age up to 21 or 22 years. You
Short Course:
6 months training programme in PMA Kakul (No Study as you are applying on the basis of Graduation) after which you will be given the rank of Captain. You will be posted in the unit specifically related to your graduation degree. Like if you have done electrical or mechanical engineering you will be posted in EME Battalion or If you have done some B.A or B.Ed or MBA etc you will be posted in Army Education Corps.

one more thing guys... after graduation course SS/C. person can go to fighting core i mean infantry or only can join signal...etc

guys 2 times not recommend in long course, can he apply in graduate course.? i want to make one correction i wrote short course (ssc) instead of graduate course... actually my query is regarding graduate course.. thanks

no he can not apply for graduate course. but if he/she have master degree then he/she have a chance to apply for ssc in army.

Short Service Commission is announced when Army needs Officers on emergency basis and eligibility is 16 years of education
6 months training and you start as Captain but retire early as well
and 2 times not recommended can apply in it for last third chance which is given after 16 years of education.
Graduate courses are filed specific like for engg,psychologist etc

graduate course is like pma long course. the difference is training period. the training period of graduate course is one year and after completion of training second Lieutenant rank will granted like pma long course candidates. and after completion of ssc captain rank is granted. but in ssc the promotion rate is very slow as compare to pma and graduate course. so most people prefer pma long course as compare to ssc.
