Salam, I want to apply for DEO here at IB but it says the required qualification is: Bachelor degree in Physics/Mathematics/Statistics/Economics.
I am B.Com. Am I eligible for the post?

Yes you are eligible
But you will have to show that you possess any diploma or short course in MS Office along with minimum typing speed as asked in advertisement.

Besides, economics, mathematics and statistics are also subjects of B.Com, therefore, it makes you eligible for the said post.

Thank you for the response. It's still confusing man. I came to know that major subject means "A subject that carries 200 marks weightage." In B.com, neither economics or statistics carries 200 marks. Do you know someone who has applied in such scenario and declared eligible for the testing procedure.

Yes,
I am the one who applied in a few positions on the suggestion of my friend. I have a B.Com degree (2 years) and have applied for the said posts in a few departments and even now I am serving in the govt. on the same qualification as stated by you.

If anyone knows better than that, then kindly share it here, as I am just assisting on the basis of my own experience.
