I have got an axe to grind here, I may appear in an interview (Office Assistant, Establishment Deptt), somewhere in December, therefore, I need to know about the status of OAs in terms of treatment they receive from the high ups, attitude of their immediate bosses (superintendents/section officers), whether the high ups look down upon them as creepy, crawly creatures or ones with dignity and personality? Well If I answer you question, I am working as a contract, assistant , equivalence to bs 16, in a project of health department, I answer that it depends on superintendents, some mau just guide you, others lead. Same is true for SOs or secretaries. Normally lower staff seldom communicates with officers above section officer, as in my case, except if you are posted in their staff.
