Life of a civilian Assitant Director - ISI

Dear All,

I am new to this forum but i already read quite alot about plenty of things, veiws and different opinions on different issues. Its healthy and quite remarkble. Now what i wanted to know is that some where here i read the Merits of ISI but there is a General Perception once you join ISI your life will restricted alot, no more free travelling to the rest of the world with your family on Vactions or something similar you will be under observation 24/7, your family will be under threat? etc etc. I was just wondering if someone can put some light on this aspect of ISI that would be great for many people i guess.

one thing more what is the pay scale, what sort of work you do as AD -ISI what are the departments do civilan can go in. I was just discussing this with one of my freind to share my thoughts, a mature guy, he said "They make you sit in front of COMPUTER as COMPUTER OPERATOR" and i was like whatever Yaar. So i am deeply concerned about all this can some members of this forum who joined ISI as AD can enlighten us.

Thanks and Best Regards,

These are all minor things. Country's interest is first Family, friends and relatives are last and least important when u serve the nation. If I have to sit before computer before computer or do a clerical job for the whole day then its a big deal to join a service which directly benefits the country.

It should be rational

I agree with you to a certain extend but i believe one has to be rational. Because think about it we are Civilans and at the age of 28 you dont develop the abilities like Army which intake you at the age of 18 or so. And yeah Country comes first but family is not the least thing either. Well its everyones way of thinking. But i was reading on Secert Agencies working of other countires since we dont have one of our own? not atleast in my Knowledge if you know one please give the URL, they mentioned that one can quit whenever they want they can travel freely, No doubt they do stay under observation which i dont mind either because people working for such sensitive jobs need to be observed for Country's protection well the only thing i read was like "after taking retirement you cannot do job on your own the Agecny will get you the job which will be well paid and Security cleared". But i have a freind whose elder brother used to work for CANNOP his life became miserable he couldnt travel, he couldnt for that matter move out of City. Cant have much social life and all. I beleive one has to be clear and there should be some guidence there for the Above mentioned job.
