1.Essay: 100 Marks Time 3 hrs
You will be given abt five essays. You will have to attempt any one. Your essay must be of at least 2500 to 3000 words.

2. Current Affairs 100 Marks
You will have to opt 5 questions only.
One question will be Compulsory and it will be of MCQs type.
Now You will have to attempt 4 questions out of 9 remaining. All will be descriptive. One question will be of notes; u will have to attempt two notes if u are attempting that question.
Note: Current Affairs paper will be like CSS IR+Current Affairs paper. So take help from previous years CSS IR papers.

DEAR first of all u must be clear that css is civil services, whereas ISI is military services and specifically intelligence job with multifarious roles and functions. It is quite thrilling and powerful job. thus there is no comparion b/w the css(civil services) and ISI (military services). personal priorities matter more here.

Secondly, ISI ADship has same horizontal and verticale mobility. i shall post some other time on career prospects of ISI.

Thirdly, for baluchistan candidates. all guys of baluchisan shall appear for written test at quetta center. AD ISI jobs were advertised in march 2006 and u will have to wait for two years now,if u did not apply in 2006 session, as jobs are advertised after every two years.

well..i m goin to throw light on the issue risen here that AD ISI is more powerful or CSP.... are more...it depends on the condition of the country dear fellows.As now,the current situation is in the favour of ISI due to military rule....in evry aspect in the world...ISI,CIA,MOSAAD ...etc have always been more powerful than anyother institutions...really it is a bitter pill which u ve to swallow...thnx

First of all i want to make it clear to all and sundry that my purpose of posting here was not to extol ISI and degrade CSS or vice versa.

Secondly, I donot understand where people live when they call all groups of css still as CSP. CSP had died after APUG, and after devolution of power DMG has not that attraction as it had enjoyed, but if anybody want to keep CSP as label i have no objecction over it. I donot want to go in detail as everybody knows abt it. But i do say CSS has still attraction if one wants to make vast social circle and if he has political backing to make money otherwise he would remain OSD(officer on Special Duty) and orphaned officer, be sure abt that or visit some season officer.

Thirdly, i want to tell friends that after 9/11 role of intelligence agencies has increased in all facets of national and external securtiy. Thus all agencies are being reorganised and restructured to counter the modern threats of terrorism and other related things.

Frouthly, abt the career prospects of AD i would like to tell that its career prospects are bright after recent restructring where their upward mobility is main feature. At present a man is promoted to the grade 22 in ISI and he was appointed as AD ISI. U get plots in DHA and all other privileges in ISI not in CSS except corruption. There are many guys who are in grade 20 and 21 and they all were appointed as AD. Few lapses are being filled up now so that it can be made more attractive to young generation and telent to serve their home land.

Fifth, recently new cader has benn introduced in ISI where man with experience of intelligence and required qualifications is being inducted in grade 19.

I can still count many things unknown to many guys but i donot want to enter in any controversy or debate as my sole aim of posting here was to encourage better talent to come forwards. Kindly, take things positively and constrcutively. I am not here to comapre css, medical , engineering, business admin, military and ISI, but just to encourage brothers to come forward. if u want to make compariosn then everybody has sense to know who is who in pakistan. thus come out of this debate and be constrcutive. If people leave ISI to join top two goups of css then many doctors leave career of medical and engineers of engineering to do css. does this mean medical or engineering is not career making!!!!??? In terms of moeny and peace of mind doctors are better than even PSPs. But it is personal choice and preference. thus plz do not compare one and then extol one and degrade other profession.
