i had scored 74 marks in NTS and my domicile is from KPK . i had scored the highest from KPK domicile and since at that time there was only 1 seat of KPK i was selected.

Tips for the interview : well when i reached for my interview there were about 10-15 people present in the conference room. 1 by 1 we were called and were interviewed. Out of all those people only 2 were selected and i was 1 of them.
The thing to remember is that no matter how hot or cold the day is wear a suit for the interview, be well groomed (haircut shave nails etc) because your impression will definitely count. i say this because out of everyone in my interview only 3 people were in a suit and 2 were selected including me. so it counts.
As far as the questioning is concerned they were mostly general type of questions. Introduce yourself , how long will a flight to peshawar, isl, lahore take. What do u know about ATC , what is the capital of ...... , where is finland ? ....stuff like that but even if your answer is wrong it would'nt matter , the only thing i believe they wanted to see was if the candidate can speak fluently in english because first when i entered the room , sat down they said to introduce myself ... i started telling them stuff and then as i was speaking they interrupted me and asked me about duration of flight to various cities and they would continously interrupt me during answers to see if the chain of thought is broken or if the subject is changed can he still continue in fluent english.
Even i gave a couple of wrong answers but as i said it wont matter.Just keep speaking fluent english and you'll be fine.
After about 15 min of questions i was asked that would it be a problem for me to work in shifts , i told them no it wouldnt be a problem i can adjust according to working environment and they seemed satisfied with my answer so my interview was over.

The breakup for interview call is like this ..... lets assume the ad says 1 seat of sindh urban .. now out of all the candidates the top 3 or 4 scorers from sindh urban domicile will be called for the interview ... if there are 2 seats for sindh urban then top 7 or 8 are called for interview and so on and so forth.
Your selection will depend on the competition you face within your domicile.

hope this helps....
Oh and my Training began in feb 2011 but that is not the official date of joining CAA as you will be given appointment letter only after successful completion of couse at CATI meaning in every exam you'll have to score 70 marks or higher out of 100. so training began in feb but date of joining is in sep 2011
Brother as i did applied for AATCO on KPK domicile and got about 53 Marks in NTS test so is there any chance of getting call from CAA for interview?

Maaz Ahmed COT Friday, April 12, 2013 02:48 PM

Does anyone have any idea what was the starting and ending roll number of AATCO at Quetta Centre ?

kamran07 Friday, April 12, 2013 03:13 PM
thanks i have been working as an AATCO for 2 yrs now, i joined CAA in sept 2011... total gross salary is 75k and take home is 67k but i have only 1 license right now , and the only other benefit is medical for you, wife, children and parents. But salary increases as you continue to take licenses on various things such as tower controller license, area control (procedure), area control(radar),approach control (radar & procedure) , instructor license etc etc. each and every license will add 20% of your basic running salary to your total salary so maximum you can go upto is 140% of basic running salary. Many of the controllers are earning much much more than the people in PG-08 or PG-09 in other CAA departments.

The recruitement process take a really long time i remember when i applied for AATCO the entire process took 1 year from test, interview to joining CATI.
CATI is the civil aviation training institute where all those selected will have to go through a 7-8 months training period . During training only basic salary is given not the whole salary which is around 25k.

as far as the case is concerned i have only heard things from various sources. the problem is that the ATC assistants who joined CAA in PG-04 , who are now in PG-05 or PG-06 are frustated and have lodged cases against CAA that CAA does not promote them and instead keeps on hiring from outside. there is definitely a stay order from court but CAA seems confident that the entire case will be tossed out soon as this same thing happened when I was going through the recruitement process.
From one really reliable source i have heard that last years selected candidates will soon recieve there joining letters and will begin their training some where in july or august after eid. When ever they will join CATI , 3 months behind them the selected candidates from this selection will join CATI as well.
Thank you so much. You have explained in detail regarding AATCO position we are thanful to you.
Sir i have query if you have any info regarding final selection of vacancies of E/M Technician PG for Balochistan package when their training will start? And what is the salary package for PG 04 cadre?
Regards,

1. PG -08 Electrical Engineer salary is 75 k gross and 67-68k take home.
2. education doesnot make a difference , in my batch i have done engineering, 2 of my colleagues are mba , some are ba , and 1 colleague has 4 masters degrees. what you have scored in NTS will make all the difference. i dont know about the ASO position but in AATCO it is all about merit now. there was a time when candidates were selected on (parchi and sifarish) basis but that doesnt happen now since all those guys never took licenses and would do nothing and get posted to nawabshah or moenjo daro near their home stations. Maybe you'll get a call for AATCO since there are 5 seats in punjab but its just a guess.
3.Yes my sister appeared from KHI and she has scored 77 marks.
4.Salary of PG-07 in any department is 65 k gross and 55k take home , PG-08 is about 75k gross and 65k take home . The extra incentive of licenses is for AATCO , Air Worthiness positions and Pilot positions in CAA. PG-07 is equivalent to BPS 16 and PG-08 is equivalent to BPS 17.
4. I really don't know if you'll get the call for interview . Passing marks for NTS test are 50 but if many candidates from kpk have scored higher then you probably wont get an interview call. Sorry Borther.
5.No idea of the quetta center.
6. dont know about the position but starting salary of PG-04 is 40 k gross and 33-35k take home.
