In my opinion, if you are confident that you can cover the syllabus and perform well in the examination then go for it. Forget about the scoring trend, if you have a sound background in this subject....

The anwser is amplitude. Frequency only changes the pitch of a sound, e.g a girl's voice can be as loud as a guy's, but their pitch is different(Bhari awaz vs patli awaz).
