@ Nice051

PMS officials are not directly posted as ACs as they have to serve as SO for a few years. Now-a-days, the promotions of PMS officers have become quite fast and it takes 6 to 7 years approx. for a PMS officer to be promoted as AC. Previously it took 15 to 17 years so a great improvement.
DCO is a grade 20 officer and there is no post of DC in Punjab so plz make amendments in your post.
Unfortunately or perhaps fortunately junior PMS and CSP are now posted as DCOs in Punjab barring the senior ones from their due share. There are several districts in Punjab where junior (grade 18) PMS officers are posted as DCOs. Even a grade 17 PMS officer is now posted as DCO in one of the districts in Punjab due to his personal links.
It all depends on personal links.
