Any idea what would be the expected merit?

I'm honestly baffled why nobody questions the test pattern for these tests? It really does not determine whether we're eligible for the post or not. For instance, many of us did our masters' ages ago and can't possibly remember the minute details of the syllabus. I for one didn't have time or books to prepare or revise. I was hoping there would be more grammar oriented questions or linguistics, at least. I mean, I LOVE LITERATURE and I have been reading the classics since I was in 7th grade but it really isn't the right way to recruit your future Lecturers. If we're encouraging our lecturers to cram the answers, what else do we expect from our students?

Also, I'll probably not make it to the interview and it's saddening because I know things would've been different if my grammar and technical abilities were tested, instead of my ability to cram the books and answers.
