What does on contract basis for 5 years mean?

Hi, Ppsc recently announced 32 seats for Assistant in Special education department. However, it says on contract basis of 5 years? Does that mean the contract will get renewed after 5 years or will it be terminated and the employees will have to look for new jobs?
