Wink screening test

There are couple of benefits of the screening test; one is result will be announced soon and other the only short listed candidates would be eligible for the written test. But on the whole it would be sophistication for the aspirants of the 3rd attempt candidates if may not they donot not make end meet the eligibility criteria for the screening test then all there hopes would be dragged down into the mire. so fpsc must consider specially the final attempt candidates and no age beneficiaries.

This is a "Screening" test. One who qualifies, will appear in CSS exam. It will not carry any weighting in final procedure.
Rest of the procedure will continue as it is.
Exams---->Written Result---->Psychological------>Interview---->Final Result

I think the criteria FPSC have mentioned on its site is quite reasonable, there is no need to ask plethora of Analytic questions, general knowledge questions are also important. Had they only asked the analytic questions, candidates without reading the compulsory subjects would have passed too.

Default Pros & Cons

well there are pros as well as cons of this screening test.....let us have a look at them one by one:

Pros:
  • The non potential aspirants will be eliminated in the first phase so that only the remaining potential aspirants would compete, by this we can assume that the marking will be more just than ever, because sometime the paper checker (he is a human being) can just fed up seeing rubbish stuff and in the meantime a potential paper comes and it becomes a scape goat to his apathy, so a deserving candidate loses his chance. We can hedge this risk at least this way.
  • The process will be efficient as well as effective.
  • The process will complete in relatively short time.
  • The exam will get back its credibility to some extent that it lost because some crammers got their way there in allocation list and also after Faisalabad incident.

Cons:
  • Already a huge burden of syllabus for 1200 marks subjects will even gets greater.
  • The mathematics will make things worse for the aspirants.
  • suppose if they (God forbid) could not qualify the screening test then they lost their precious year and time is priceless, my brothers do not do a job to do the prep and sisters delay their marriages even and in the end if they are eliminated without giving a chance to appear in real exam, particularly when they know that before there used to be no screening test, it would be simply a gloomy picture.
  • The weightage of the test is also a prob, 200 marks test is soemthing excessive.

BUT dear aspirants now you have got no choice, if you really have decided to take your chances then accept it, because what cannot be cured has to be endured. start the prep and prove your mettle to FPSC that you are capable.

The best thing about this screening test is that it will prepare the aspirants for future federal and provincial commission examinations! one of my friend passed CSS and PMS twice but on the other hand he failed 9 times other federal and provincial commission examination which consists of 100 marks MCQ's of same subjects which are stated in CSS pre screening test.

i believe its a positive move by FPSC that in any case the aspirant fails CSS or screening test at least he will be prepared well for future tests and departmental examinations. this knowledge and hard work of aspirants will never be wasted.

Thank you FPSC.

One important aspect of this test is being missed out by all of us that will short listing of candidates as a result of this test be on quota basis?what if they short list top 3000 candidates, but 2900 of them from punjab??

Definitely quota based result policy will be followed.

You mean 40% in each part of the paper?

I guess FPSC will employ this technique
English (40 Marks) (16 Marks to qualify)
General Abilities (40 Marks) (16 marks to qualify)
General Knowledge (90 Marks) (36 marks to qualify)
Islamiat (30 Marks) (12 marks to qualify)
Total Marks 200 and qualifying total aggregate would be 100 Marks

Regards
