Time: 2.00.P.M. to 5.00.P.M. Maximum marks: 100


01. Write an Essay of about 300 words on any one of the following: 20

(i) Reconciliatory steps in politics, a better strategy in democratic norms,
(ii) A down ward trend in education standard today is root cause of all social evils,
(iii) Talibanization and Terrorism has destabilized the South West Asian Region. What policy decisions
Pakistan should adopt to bail out safely.
(iv) The curse of Interest is responsible for world wide recession and declining world economy.


02 Make a precis of the following and give it a suitable heading: 20
Africans and Asians alike have been tortured and oppressed by the energetic ingenuity of the western conquest. If the world is to be happy, energy and ingenuity must no longer be expended in the exploitation of those who have less of these qualities.^Mankind must learn a degree of mutual respect which has never hitherto existed.-v Perhaps some at least of the nation of Asia will have learnt this lesson from their sufferings at the hands of ingenious despots. Perhaps on .the other hand, they will only have acquired a wish to imitate the ruthless mastodons who are bringing the west to disaster. One has not the gift of prophecy and one cannot plumb the depths of human folly, but while there is uncertainty, hope and apprehension are equally rational, and hope is more likely to be beneficial. So long, therefore, as hope remains possible, one shall continue to hope. And a large part of one's hope will be centered in the East.


03 Write a letter to the Chief Engineer (Electricity) of your area complaining him that the un-usual and 20
prolonged load—shedding was in fact due to in-efficiency on part of distribution wing. Efforts
therefore may be made to put the things in order.

OR


Write an application to the Nazim of your district complaining him/her against the increasing trend of professional begging and suggesting some ways to stop it.


04 Select the most appropriate meaning of the following words and use it in your sentence: 20

Please post the appropriate answer of Question#4. According to my search every answer is so closed to eachother creating ambiguity to touch upon the exact meaning. Seniors and others are requested to post suitable choices.

though the all words r confusing yet i find following confirmed meanings from oxford dictionary n that is quite surprising

brother i gave four titels to my precis and 'imperialism of the west and sufferings of the third world`was one of these.`exploitation of the poor nations at the hands of hegemonic powers`was an other title.
