Difference between Islamiat and Islamic history

Dear all,

While I do know that the two subjects are different, can somebody give me a brief idea of the syllubus of the former?

dear i had same combination in CCE 2008.
and it has been a scoring combination in CCE exams but now this trend is unfavourable.
in Islamic History P1 you will find following topics
Life Of Muhammad At Makkah
= = = = = = Madina
Charter Of Madina
Suleh Hudaibiya
battle Of badr

Khulafai Rashdeen
and two other topics.

while in Islamait mostly Aqaid are asked and to some extent history belonging to Prophet and Caliphs is also included.
i got 100/150 in islamiat in CCE, and just 35/150 in muslim history p 1.
i cleared all the papers except muslim History. total marks 442.

So I should'nt take up islamiat or islamic history? Are both non scoring subjects in present trend? I have also heard that a certain proclivity prevails in the SPSC when it comes to Islamiat

As far as islamiat is concerned it is good subject. it depend more upon your aptitude.

dear Economist,

I have a better inclination towards Islamic History I, but since you have been kind enough to point out from your personal experience that it is not a subject where one can score well, I'm having 2nd thoughts. my question is

1. Is Islamiat a scoring subject?

2. Should I decide to change my subject of Islamic History I with Islamiat, would it be a good idea? ( I feel i have adequate command on Islamiat as well and given some time I may be able to excel in the subject)

3. kindly comment on the choice of my combination in connection to the optional subjects. They are: 1. ISLAMIC HISTORY or ISLAMIAT, 2. PUBLIC ADMINSTRATION 3. INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS

Dear go for the Islamiat and try to read out reading from the syllabus.
i just read 3 days before the paper and still remained successful in securing 100 marks. I would suggest you to opt Islamiat instead of History subjects. ( Please keep in mind i do not criticise the choice of history instead i prefer Islamiat rather than History as a matter of trend. otherwise history is one of my favt subject).

2. Public Administration will remain fruitful and marks yielding subject.

3. IR, is also better choice. but dear i can not suggest you because i didnt opt it.

However, in the SPSC website, no syllubus for Islamiat is given, can u give me a detailed syllubus, will be gratified,

dear here is the syllabus of islamiat.
it is available on SPSC website. but before syllabus they didnt mention the subject name.




The candidates will be excepted to have a
reasonably good knowledge of Quran,
Hadith and the Fiqah. They should be able
to answer questions on the following
subjects:2
(a) Shariat2i2Imam and Arkan2i2
Islam.
(b) Holy Prophet’s Life.
(c) History of the Khulpha2i2
Rashideen.
The study of the following books
recommended:2
(i) Spirit of Islam.
(ii) Seerat2un2 Nabi by Shibli2
Numani.
(iii) Khutabat2i2Madras by Syed
Suleman Nadvi.
(iv) The early Caliphate by
Muhammed Ali

One last question before I can decide. Hope you dont mind, i have a habit of asking a lot of questions before I start towards a certain direction and it may become irritating :P

I searched the forum and came across a fellow member named Sikva. he has compiled quite a generous list of topics pertinent to CSS. Will you be kind enough to go through it and extract the topics whic are irrelevent for CCE (Im assuming that CCE syllubus will be less lengthy than CSS) If all is relevent). Additions from you will be appreciated.

dear Shikva's whole list is important for CCE. it is really difficult to exclude topics. however i have tried my best to help you out.(using my little experience)

furthermore, i did not exclude some of the topics though IN CCE these were not given space but if you will read these out will be beneficial for you.
a Book in udru khutbat e madras by nadve sahib, read it. it is very useful for general knowledge of islam as well as for CCE.
