I whish that we all work together on this subject. The first step should be to find out the syllabus of I.H Period 1.

Its Necessary for aspirants that divide the syllabus in Orthodox and unorthodox sections, because the time is too short for preparation.

What i believe you need three weeks to cover whole subject of Islamic History I and it will also two parts of Islamic History

For First Week.

3. Conditions of Arabia during Jahaliya
4. some touch to previous prophets specialy to Hazrat Moosa and Hazrat Essa(Though it is not part of syllabus but it will augment the knowledge regarding islamic history)
5. Waqhi-e-feel
6. Birth of Hazrat Muhammad S.A.W.W

second week

7.Early of Prophet Muhammad SAWW
8.Revelation
9.troubles faced by prophet SAWW during the tableegh
10.Early enterant of Islam
11.Conquest of Makkah
12.Last Sermon
13. Effects of Islam on Conditions of Arabia
14.Death of Hazrat Muhammad SAWW

third week

15.Khulfa-e-rashdeen
16.Adminstraion during Khulfa-e-rashdeen
17.Bani umaya
18. Down fall of Bani umaya

Note:- Concentrate on period before the advent of Bani Umaaya i think three to four question will be asked from first portion.
As far as my preparation is concerned I have covered all the contents of second week now i am in third week to cover it

Dear Mazhar's book is quite ok though i have not gone through the book but my friends are of the opinion that this book is more than enough, but i will recomend follwoing books

1. History of Islam " Muhammad suhail Bhatti"
"History of saracens" by Ameer ali for supplementing your knowledge and understanding of the subject
