I'm also Msc physics. Some people and Academies suggested me in order to get higher score, I've to sacrifice my background subject. But I think our background subject is one of the best one. As far as optional subjects are concerned I would suggest you to go for your aptitude and interest. Yeah, experienced people's views are also important but one thing is sure people will show and implement theirs interest upon you while you have to appear in the exam not they. Better for you is to go through the past papers and concerned syllabus and then see your aptitude and select your subject.
My background is also Master in physics and my* optionals are ;
PHYSICS (200)
INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS (200)
PASHTO (100)
HISTORY OF USA (100)
OR
INTERNATIONAL LAW (100)
I'm confused in last of the two subjects and will choose one of them soon.
