First listen to IR LEctures posted by virtual university on youtube and make short notes and revise them. This will give you basic knowledge of the subject. Then go for a book of IR by Ikram rabbani as it covers all the topics. Developing a habbit of reading newspaper on daily basis will further aid you in preparations.
